I can't believe that, everyone knows that journalists have always been very keen to stay within the bounds of what is permitted, Even when their CEO didn't realise it might not be ok to pay policemen for information.



When will the NI execs be banged up for corrupting coppers? And when will the coppers be banged up for accepting bribes?

Tom Watson MP just made me chuckle with his comment to young Murdoch back in front of the select committee.



Some thing along the lines of - ''You must be the first mafia boss in history who didn't realise his company was dealing in criminal enterprises.''

But he lost the initiative with that line, I thought. Watson was not getting what he wanted and resorted to playground insults that the committee and Murdoch treated the right way. Murdoch 1 - Watson 0

Watson is a grade A douche bag with a blatant agenda.

I wondered where he was going when he brought [iOmerta[/i into the conversation.

I'd agree, it was obviously pre-conceived by Watson and possibly not the greatest way to go.



Junior is a slippery little eel and you knew the committee weren't going to get anywhere fast with him after the first round of Q&A's.

I thought the Omerta bit was quite clever, but like a bad comedian, he took the gag too far

'Didn't you ask when Gordon Taylor was involved 'But he isn't a royal?''

'You seem to be the only person in london at the time that thought it was only down to 1 rouge reporter'

'Do you think that failing to ask questions that were SCREAMING to be asked made you look incompetent, yes or not?'

When's the beatification of the Murdochs?

It's okay – they're good Christian folk, just like their close family friend, Tony Blair. And they never helped him (and Bush) push any agendas for reason of whatever agenda of their own or a shared one, oh no.

That should make them easy to spot!

A democratically elected MP with no criminal convictions compared to the CEO of News International whose company has been involved in phone hacking a murdered schoolchilds mobile phone as well as countless other illegal activities.

Well indeed. And Watson is one of those who have continued to push the case, even when it seemed like pushing against an un-openable door. I can't believe anyone thinks that's a bad thing – not least given what we've been finding out for the last few months.

For me Murdoch came out of that as someone who shouldn't be in charge of a company as he clearly doesn't have the skills or the nous to see things that are staring him in the face. He didn't appear to have much clue what went on on his watch and seemed to think that paying out vast sums of money to prevent something going to court was not worthy of further query.



I wonder how he got the job.

Either that or he was flim-flaming as he knew he couldn't admit the truth as that would put himself in clink!



His whole defence revolved around 'I wasn't there', 'I don't remember' and 'I didn't know'.

He hasn't been the only one who's come out looking totally incompetent from this whole sorry episode....His dad, Brooks, Coulsen, they've all looked like non-managerial material through it all....By all accounts working for News International as a journo is like being a 8 year old in a candy shop, without the shopkeeper being there - a licence to do all the things you know you shouldn't do, but suddenly can.



And to think our PM thought that Coulsen was savvy enough to have at the heart of Government....

What blatent agenda is that?

I read that NI gave Rebekah Brooks £1.7m, a paid-for office in London and a chauffeured limo as a severance package.



That'll teach her.

You really have to wonder what kind of 'relationship' her and the Murdochs had/have??....

She knows where the bodies are buried, that's for sure (mostly as she was doing the digging and burying)

None of them are remotely bothered about looking managerial. They couldnt give a toss if the average viewer thinks they're a bit thick. Its all about not giving the game away. From their point of view "looking totally incompetent" is the preferred outcome, at least compared to "self incrimination".

......and, ultimately, it makes people like Cameron look like the real losers for actually employing them after their NI employment stint??.....
