Yup, Labour and Conservative are neck and neck at the moment.
Which is slightly bad news for the Tories, as some of their seats are densely Tory with high majorities, which wastes support.
Still, they had the chance to go for Proportional Representation and spurned it.
If they'd helped the Cleggster with that, he might (?) have supported their boundary changes.
Oh well.

| Quote El Barbudo="El Barbudo"On the one hand, this parliamentary term is different in that it is a fixed five years, this allows Milliband to keep his powder dry and ramp it up at the right time, he doesn't have to suddenly leap into action at a previously unknown date.
As the greatest area of mistrust of Labour is the economy, they won't be making any promises until they have a fair idea what the state of the economy will be in 2015.
On the other hand, I keep seeing stuff happening, especially around the economy, on which Labour should be speaking out but don't, which is most frustrating.'"
Miliband has no powder to keep dry. If Labour has no plan, how is they managed to produce a plan they have been saying is the right way since they got trounced in 2010?
All that Labour has done is snipe from the sidelines & produce policy sounbytes that collapse under the slightest scrutiny.
They never miss an opportunity to speak out, but quickly shut up when they have to admit they won't repeal anything that has been done..

| Quote Leaguefan="Leaguefan"People NEARLY voted Cameron in and look what happens.
He makes a dead man look effective.
People who work for others and vote Tory are not logical thinkers IMO. You work hard to make other rich at YOUR expense and you think that's good, then blame people who want to help level the playing field and support you.
I notice how the Unions that have closed shops, (Equity, BMA, Law Society) are never condemned by Tories, nor are the major unions such as the Freight Transport Association, National Farmer Union!!!, CBI, Institute of Directors etc. are never criticised by Tories or people who post anti union dogma caused by lack of joined up coherent logical thinking ability.
Add this to the hypocrisy of Tories and right wing apologists who spout "work hard to improve yourself" but when you do they use ever means possible to prevent you "moving into our world". See how Tory governments have used the police as their civilian "army" to quell "riots" in this country but support right wing groups in other countries as "freedom fighters"'"

Clegg doesn't want PR. He got the AV vote he wanted and got mullered.
Many Labour seats are high majority & the marginals are Lib Dem who are dead in the water.
With all the allegedly terrible policies the Tories are responsible for, any opposition party should be streets ahead.

The AV vote was a fudge cobbled together to keep the Lib Dems happy, it was designed to be a stepping point along the way to full PR, it was rightly rejected by the electorate as being said fudge.

They won't change anything.
It wasn't a fudge. Didn't Gordy offer the same to try & get the Lib Dems to go into coalition?
It was rejected because everyone watched the Auf Wiedersehen Pet clip.

If course it was a fudge, it was a halfway house to full PR with all the bad bits and very few of the advantages, it was put together by a mainly Tory government and was designed to keep LD activists quiet and not get the electorate interested at all.
Same, Davey boy could do with a bit of PR at the moment with those electoral boundary knocked back.

He has a policy to get the energy companies to increase their prices before the next election, and then reduce investment in infrastructure after the election. (although that lightbulb might not be much use in 2016 when the power goes off).
he can also pretty much guarantee that the pre-election Tory party coffers are swelled by donations from the energy market now.
