| the problem is - who on earth will be selected as Sports Personality of the Year 2012 ?
has there ever been a more difficult choice of candidate ?
Andy Murray really put the cat among the pigeons by winning in New York with Bradley Wiggins looking nailed on until the likes of David Weir and Ellie Simmonds made their bids, not to mention Ben Ainsley et al
who would you vote for ?
for me ? well definitely Wiggins.....erhh maybe !

| Its tough, Wiggins is probably favourite as he won the TDF and then won golds in the games, marvelous feat. Mo Farrah, laura Trott, Jason Kenny will all have a shot as well.
If I vote, I will probably go for Wiggins.

Bloody nightmare, especially at traffic lights
Perhaps we could start a campaign for one person, like was done with rage Against the Machine and get someone in who would not stand a chance normally.

| In a typically pedantic Sin Bin type of way, isn't the title Sports PERSONALITY of the year?
If you're looking at personalities, then you rule out Andy Murray immediately, and possibly Bradley Wiggins.
If, however we're being sensible, and we're looking at sporting achievements, then yes, there are too many to choose from. I'd go for Wiggins, seeing as he's local-ish (even if his accent suggests otherwise), he supports Wigan, and he's doing a lot for Joining Jack.

Always amuses me when people pass judgement on their perception of [ipersonality[/i
Where do the likes of Steve Davis, Nigel Mansell, Jonny Wilkinson, Michael Owen rank in your perception of [ipersonality[/i?

Steve Davis is actually a laugh a minute guy, however stony faced he appeared during tournaments but yes, the others are boring old farts
'personality' is probably the wrong word - maybe it should be 'Sports Acheiver of the Year' ?

I'd prefer 'Sports Achiever of the Year'?

| The BBC love Ennis and Hoy. Jess did well, but given the number of multiple medallists it would not seem right if she won it. I think the little girl swimmer - Ellie - has been the personality of the summer. In fact, as Denise Lewis said a while back, maybe this year they should have a female and a male one?
What about team of the year - Team GB or Paralympc GB? Another dilemma. To be honest, I thought the paralumpic games were actually better the Olympics - which surprised me.
