I think the link between the club and the fans is about right. But not everything needs to come out from behind the scenes. Cannot satisfy all posters for whom only a win is good enough. I am happy to see progress behind the scenes which relies on some publicity whether it is via HDM or elsewhere. But if information is put out there it needs to be genuine. eg Hull close to signing Lam may have been true it just didn’t come off in the end. But if we’re not winning for some fans it seems to provoke overly harsh criticism which is only helpful to them - catharsis but is really useless and annoying to most. Wish we could all be more circumspect. The club are trying can’t we as fans follow suit

Great response to all the toxic fan base nonsense and a line drawn in the sand. Time for the realistic supporters to stand up and get behind them. Not you Jake, you can just show up to the big games and act like Wayne Bennett!

Maybe Grix needs to speak to his chairman about managing expectations:

"There's a couple of very exciting potential signings on the horizon. If Richie and John pull those signings off, we'll have a very exciting squad and a really, really strong spine for next season."

It's unhelpful when Pearson makes these sorts of comments as it gets the fan base excited for the next season and sets the expectation high, which then leads to annoyance/disappointment from the fan base when reality doesn't meet expectations. He made a similar comment in Oct last year about this years squad

"We’ve made eight signings so far and there are nine to come in total. All of the forwards we’ve brought in are all six-foot plus powerhouses who can play a bit so we hope to start dominating other teams again in Super League. That was definitely a strategic identity aim."

Three of those 6ft plus powerhouses that can play a bit have now left the club

Would you not be happy if we lined up something like the below next year? If potential signings come off...

01 Walker/Moy
02 Briscoe
03 Hardaker
04 Lafai
05 Barron/Martin
06 Sullivan (He would absolutely rip it up in SL)
07 Abdul
08 Ese Ese
09 Cust
10 Ashworth/Aydin
11 Cartwright
12 Holmes
13 Asiata

That team you’ve posted would be better than anything we’ve put out this season, but there’s two big problems, the biggest problem is that we’ve not signed Lafai or Sullivan have we? Then in that 13 alone there’s a least a few players who’ve had really bad luck with injuries recently, and often players like that for whatever reason often struggle to shake the bad luck.

FWIW I wouldn’t be too thrilled about Lafai anyway just because of his age on a 2-3 year contract but I’ll accept he is playing better then what we’ve mostly put out this season.

Barring signings we’ve not made I’d say at best we might not get as many hammerings and maybe have a group with more experience and mental toughness. Quality wise still way and I’d suggest even Wakefield would fancy their chances of finishing above us. We make a few real quality signings and things change, but we can only judge that when it happens. We’ve had trouble bringing quality in.

a question was asked that required a Yes/No answer, no expansion needed. The team lacks pace, size, strike, creativity and flair. Other than that it's great

I'm glad you recognise the level I work at. Yeah, may be an option for me if I decide not to renew and pick and choose games but will likely drift away if I don't. I will post my sob story on here if I do though so don't miss that

I'll bet there would be lots of much younger options to lafai over in oz who would be much younger and probably cost less. We don't want more 32/33 year olds on 2 year + contracts. It's just asking for trouble. I can see a scenario next year where we have half the salary cap sat in the stands again due to injuries which can be avoided with more considered recruitment. But players who have proven to be robust, not ones who are the opposite

Not a sob story at all…someone questioned why I don’t go and I answered….doubt I aren’t the only to have drifted away but you like to bring it up.As for the remaining signings…let’s see who they are, like we say…a speedy half back and centre would be ideal and maybe another forward with the young guns back up.They will be better coming in with more experienced players around them unlike this season where out of 1-7 on Sunday…4 was youngsters and 2 of those was in the spine

It sounds like you'll be back supporting the club financially next year then?
