Beating anybody in the Top 6 is the first problem, let alone if it matters to them. We haven't beaten any of those sides since March. Four months. That's how bad we've been this year. Our current position is based on beating sides below us.
It took Smith a couple of games for things to click in 2022. Maye it will be the same this year, but we're running out of games and I don't think we have the squad to do much in the playoffs even if we get there.
The sooner this season is over the better for me. I’ve found it even worse than last season. We all knew we were rubbish last year, this season is even worse because raised expectations have been absolutely crushed , and not just for this season. That along with the blank weekends due to our first round Challenge Cup exit and meaningless England friendlies has left me feeling hollow. I never want to see my team beaten, but I couldn’t care less how we fare in the remaining games, they are absolutely pointless in the scheme of things.

7 years now since our grand final win. We are getting worse each season. We will need 6 wins from 9 to make the top six now. I just can't see it happening

Depends if Salford and Catalans keep their form at the current level

Yeah fully agree. Arthur needs plenty of time which we don’t have, but it’s incredible that we’re looking like missing out on the 6.. it’s been a very weary few years for most Leeds fans I’m personally feeling very fatigued with it all at the moment. I’ve confidence Blease will sort it though and we just need to get our heads down and crack on

I'm not 100% sure about Blease. Keeping a club like Salford afloat and competitive is one thing, and while he comes across as being professional, ultimately there are no guarantees.
Looking at the evidence in front of us, his two big decisions - removing Smith and appointing Arthur on a short-term contract, do not seem to have meaningfully impacted the results of the first team. Added to that there is no news on recruitment, and a lot of uncertainty surrounding the fortunes of the first team into 2025. I'm not saying he won't turn things around eventually, but assuming he will is too much like blind faith to me. We need something tangible to put faith in.
The club evidently believed that this squad is capable of doing something in the play-offs this season. Blease seemed to buy into this, but the last few games don't really bear this out, and I'm not convinced that the new style of play is going to be enough for us to make the 6.

Arthur has been here a week. Give him a chance. Blease has been here maybe six weeks. Again, give him a chance. Did you expect Blease to arrive and say the team wasn't good enough to make the six? What professional people say in front of the cameras is not always going to be a reflection of their honest opinion, they have to play the media game to an extent. I don't think we'll make the top 6 and I haven't thought we would for a couple of months. I am hopeful that Arthur will inject some discipline and method over the next few weeks, and there were initial signs that he was doing that in the KR game.

What do you want Arthur to do with only a few days on the training field to sort the mess Smith has left?
