If true fair enough, doesn't seem to across that any, think he not named in the 21, will probably mean he will be out on loan within the next few days.

I don't think we can go with Moy as first choice FB, which means we Nedd a new fullback and that will probably be a quota place gone. I'd rather keep Walker and having him, but don't see that happening.

Would you entertain the option of Hardaker at full back if we can sign another centre?
We have Litten who might get more chances in the team if he decides to work on being a back up centre. Or if a centre gets injured move Hardaker there to cover and Moy cover at full back.
Zak has lost some pace but he's still a smart player who could link up well, and was always a good defensive full back.
I'm not sold on the idea fully myself, but I'm just thinking of options should we struggle to sign an appropriate full back but find there are centres available.

Not for me, doesn't have the link up play or pace for the modern day fullback, as a back up option, but I'd want better from the first choice fullback.

we've already tried to sign an overseas full back and I expect we'll sign another one when we find the right player

Mr. Zucchini Head wrote:As I've said before, Walker is a decent enough player, but compare him to other full backs in the league and he's mediocre at best. Moy is already pretty much as good as him imo, and has the potential to far exceed him, plus he's cheaper and more robust. Wigan are never afraid to put their faith in a youngster if they think hes good enough and Im glad we are doing that with Moy and letting him develop.

It seems like Cartwright will get a game. I wonder if Smith could be the one to miss out? Lane can do a spell at hooker if required. It would be a huge vote of confidence in Balmforth but he did leave him out there for an hour against Leeds.

Lane at nine?
Have you got your Tinkering Tony hat on?
Have to get away from this square pegs in round holes selection
Smith needs another chance to rectify his poor distribution last week and bring Balmforth off the bench again
Cartwright no doubt will come off the bench although if he is that good i would start him

sounds like _ollocks to me
Had a good game in the reserves and was bigged up by Cummins in the HDM
How many times have we heard this attitude/fitness excuse from fans in the know?
Up untill last week it was Balmforth
If being dropped for having a poor second half at London then if i was Walker i would also be pi-sed

I agree
Using a quota place for a full back would be a waste when we have Walker,Moy,Litten and Hardaker.
Personally think Walker has been hard done by if your are dropped for a poor second half at London.
On that basis we would be fielding 11 new reserve starters.
Is it co incidence that since Myler came in all the ex Leeds players Sutcliffe,Tindall and Walker will all be on the move

Location: In the land of wishful thinking once more. Patiently waiting for our time to finally arrive.
A month ago I would have been dreading this game, it would have had another fifty-point drubbing written all over it, but suddenly it has become an interesting one.

Warrington seem to have hit a bump in the road once again in recent weeks. They certainly looked somewhat dejected and low on confidence when losing to Salford last week, although it may simply have been post-Wembley blues which can afflict any number of sides down the years.

We, on the other hand, had a long-awaited confidence boost last week, just by the act of actually winning once more. Even allowing for Leeds poor performance, we played with a good deal more energy and vigour than we probably have done all year. If we can replicate that on Saturday (which should also engage the crowd as well) then we stand a chance of being in with a shout.

On the other hand, if Wire bottle up all their frustrations of recent weeks and decide to take it out on us then we could be in bother. On paper, they have way too much quality for us to handle, and if they click back into gear once again it might become a painful watch.

I just want to see us committed and playing with energy and hopefully take our chances when they come our way. Sounds like the weather is going to be different from last weekend, so let's hope for some fun in the sun at last!

I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.

It’s all conjecture about Walker but we do know that fat contracts were handed out to players. It’s maybe more to do with trimming the playing budget and getting value for money.
Walker is a decent full back but maybe Myler thinks he can get better value.
After all he did play SL in that position.
