I don't but neither did Wigan fans with Dylan Edwards when we were told he was "rested" for our game. I think if Luai plays R1 its telling so lets see.

Wigan fans seemingly angry that Saints fans have the temerity to return serve with points indicating that Penrith perhaps aren't taking it as seriously as first thought.

Are they taking this game as seriously as they could do? Clearly not (they’d be here if they were and would be playing a warm up game).

Did they take the Saints game as seriously as they could’ve done? Clearly not (resting players not coming off major surgery, billing it as a pre season challenge game etc)

That’s about the top and bottom of it all IMO but Saints achievement was a fantastic one and so would ours be. I still can’t get my head around why that rattles Saints fans so much.

Man up? Odd choice of words mate. I'm simply explaining why us Saints fans are now having a little tongue in cheek dig about Pentith's apparent apathy towards this fixture when we've had it from you lot for the last year. And no, I didn't say or mean "all."

Luai has had major surgery and went off in a Grand Final. You know as well as any of us that’s a totally different situation to Edwards and Martin, however much you’d like to try and use it as a counter argument.

I honestly have no idea why it’s so offensive to look at the evidence and think Penrith haven’t treated these games as they would an NRL grand final (that’s both the Saints game and this game next week). They have numerous advantages over our sides, so they should be able to overcome them not treating it as a be all and end all fixture.

I don't think any Saints fans are offended or rattled by people suggesting Penrith took last years WCC less seriously then they did their own GF for example.

What is funny is the people (not you) who suggest they're obviously taking this years WCC more seriously than last, in an attempt to play up Wigan's achievement should you beat them.

You’re a sensible guy mate, honest question for you-do you think they took your game or are taking this game as seriously as they would an Aussie GF or a big league fixture?

The Aussie sides don’t respect us and you only need to look at how Saints prepared for the away fixture last year, compared to how Penrith are preparing for their away fixture this year to see the difference in attitude towards it.

No mate and to be fair I have just said as much an a post further up the thread.

Fully agree.

For what it's worth, I think Wigan will win next week and if they do it's a fantastic achievement. The bookies have Wigan +4 which is very tempting as I would actually have them slight favourites. (Saints were +20 incidentally last year  )

You're probably right and I've said before if we played them 10 times they would win a lot more games than we would.

However like it or not and what you seem to be conveniently ignoring is that we've heard all off season that Penrith won't make the same mistake again, they are stung, hurt etc. Wigan will get the backlash etc etc

And yet when it comes down to it they still haven't left Australia and seemingly don't give a toss. So if you win don't be surprised or argue if Saints fans hit you with the same narrative. And that's not even taking into account your home advantage.
