Nope, after the majority of people were hugely positive about him being put in post, I said I didn't see the need for it, and it's another person for fans to criticise, and it's already happening

OK. Well I am not criticising the individual at all. He is what he is. But I am criticising the appointment. We have gone Poundland / Jobs For the Boys again in an important position.

Blimey what a rant. I really wish Sinfield had got the job just to see you changing your ways & leading the singing & dancing.

Yeah I wanted an ambitious appointment like Sinfield to come in and reshape our RL systems, you are happy with Chambers. Say's a lot.
I made the mistake of unblocking you recently to see if you could contain your inner chimp and hold back from criticising other forum members. It appears not. Back you go.
To be fair, I don’t know what the recruitment process for DOR involved. It would have been interesting to have heard that Chambers beat off some experienced top class opposition to get the role. Maybe he did, I don’t know. Will assess again at the end of 2024

Do you think he was consulted on the Burgess appointment?
Honestly i'm not to sure of the ins and outs of the job, but i think the other roles are covered as normal and having a guy who knows the club inside and out, in a position to help out in all areas is a plus. I might be wrong matey but i think it will be a help rather than hinder, so i'm looking at it as a plus
Also no, i don't think he was consulted on Burgess at the time, as i think the choice to appoint him as a director of Rugby came after we signed Burgess.

Personally, I see that as a minus, not a plus. Wouldn't it be better to get a fresh pair of eyes. Not that I'm blaming chambers for anything, but he has been at the club throughout all this mess. Outside of sport, if a big company is in trouble you rarely see them promoting from within for the high up roles. They bring in external talent in the hope that it will freshen things up.

On the other hand someone a rung or 2 down from the top can often see what is going wrong because they know the organisation so well. I guess hindsight will show whether he was the right appointment, One major caveat being that a bit like Karl F we don’t actually know what his responsibilities are so he could end up being blamed for things that aren’t his fault (I can’t say whether that was the case with KF as I don’t know what his responsibilities are/were).
Just my opinions unless it's a FACT, in which case it's a fact.
