Don't really miss them, as there would be too many teams in the super league in the area. Having watched Wire over 60 years, never have considered Widnes as our main local rivals. View them similar to the way we view Salford.

Nicko vs Jim Mills and Sir Leslie battling with Kurt Sorenson holds fond memories for me. Other than that I don't think there's anything about Widnes that anyone could miss. Regret to report though that I did work there for a couple of years until thankfully my employer took pity on me and transferred me to Trafford Park which was marginally better.

I hadn’t heard of Widnes till that CC final, Bevan’s early try had me purring in anticipation and then it was all down hill!
