Late recalls are part of the DR arrangements that both clubs are aware of and do happen, a couple of times to us as I recall but it’s the exception to the rule and the vast majority of the time they do feature.
No fit established player at Fax has ever been excluded from a training session because of the DR arrangement and is simply another false claim.
Every coach is aware that there can be late withdrawals for a number of reasons that have nothing to do with DR right up until the kick off time and keep as many of the squad available for as long as possible.
When someone has to step in at the last minute team wise he’ll be up to pace and team wise they’ll be no worse off than they would have been if the DR player hadn’t have been available in the first place.
That’s both parties acting responsibly within the terms of the agreement in the best interest of their respective clubs and has nothing to do with doing as your told or having a boot on someone’s neck!

Thought I'd just revisit this thread in the vain hope that people who want to prattle on about this subject could limit their waffling to one thread rather than bringing up the same boring pros and cons on nearly every new topic. I'm not holding my breath!
Duel reg is a complex subject matter , I think many Halifax supporters and indeed other historical clubs feel they should have their own academy/reserves regardless and not taking into consideration the financial considerations of doing so . I can see the pros and cons of duel reg , we have brought in some good quality players who have previously played for us in this guise and become permanent players for us , we’ve also been the parent club in this situation when we’ve used it with betfred league 1 clubs to keep our peripheral players match fit . Duel reg can also I imagine be very disruptive to dressing room moral when regular players are somewhat dismissed for one off players . The problem is with rugby league is that it’s unique in the sense that not many sports have the top tier being professional and the 2nd tier being semi professional. Ultimately and unfortunately without money and significant investment this scenario will always be a bone of contention especially for clubs like halifax.

No worries, thought I was going mad for a minute wondering if I imagined posting and thinking if I did post it wasnt anything bad.

It's an interesting discussion. From my perspective over here DR hasn't helped us at all. It may have been useful in getting a side on the field when we were initially coming back from oblivion but that's it. The rest of the time it's disrupted the team and caused inconsistency. It's no coincidence that we've looked a happier bunch in the main since Dunning left and the use of DR stopped and the short term loans decreased too.

Sorry to say that I agree with Bullseye that the DR system disrupts teams, and for the record I have always thought this, ( faxlore do your best to find otherwise).
My Humble Opinion Only - let the knockers begin.

Yer Bullseye must have been heartbroken when to quote the T&A.
“Mark Dunning, who has used the Bulls’ dual-registration partnership with Leeds on numerous occasions so far this season, will have James Donaldson, Luis Roberts and Sam Walters at his disposal in the crunch clash against Fax.”
Especially when they were Bradford’s best players on the night winning by just 4 points precisely because of their input.

I still think despite the losses at Widnes, Batley, and London, that Bradford game was easily as bad as those performances and we still managed to get pretty close to them. We beat them easily in the cup and should have beaten them at Odsal yet Bradford went in to this weekend in 3rd. To me just shows the drop of in standards in the league this season.
