It probably shows how amateur our sport is that one man, like Fitzpatrick, can have so many bases to cover in his role.
From Middleton's comments the other day, it's obvious even he doesn't think Fitzpatrick is doing all his jobs competently, so why don't the board at least find some people to help share the load - I mean, having nobody in the management structure, anywhere between the guy coaching the team and the bloke who is planning your matchday entertainment does seem very bizarre?
As i saw last nights game there was genuine effort put in by the players , but there were a few things that let us down.
The defence generally in the marathon six again period was ok , but was it 2 or 3 tries off kicks where there was acres of space for Cats to score because there was nobody lurking behind the line to clean up.
2 tries off basic mistakes near our own line ,dropped ball & bad ptb, Cats scored off the next plays.
Too much possession lost through basic handling errors.
Players generally need to be alert to breaks & support the ball carrier better.
I think i would definitely move Thewlis into the engine room of the team. He has more spark & nouse than our senior players.
