I could understand keeping Austin as he at least seems to try and as said, it's going to be near impossible to sign two HBs of quality at the same time. I'd like an organising 7 to help bring Sinfield on and partner whoever is at 6.
Tet hasn't done enough. Fusitua has had too many injuries, Donaldson isn't good enough.
Bentley seems to want out. While he can put in some good shifts ( especially the back end of last season ) he was a ban on legs first half of the season when we really needed him. If we can keep him on a sensible wage I wouldn't be unhappy If he leaves for NRL, likewise.

We've seen before what happens when you try to play without an organising halfback - umpteen combinations of Myler, Sutcliffe etc failed miserably. I guess Sinfield is the future hope there, but would you want to rely on him next season? I'm not even fully convinced he's going to make a SL player yet, let alone run the team. Problem is if we bring in someone for two or three years (which we might need to do to attract someone) does that mean Sinfield will leave regardless?
Its all very hard, and I'm glad I'm not the one having to make decisions. Get it right and we're set. Get it wrong and we'll be having this same discussion in two or three years.
Yeah i'm yet to be convinced with Sinfield too... really hope he makes it though for obvious reasosn. Would be an amazing story and a huge benefit to the club. Personally i think he needs a good loan.
At the risk of knee-jerking on one result, I do think I was wrong about Smith/the project.
I’m starting to come round to the way of thinking that Smith needs time. You come back from 14-0 away at wigan and a man down, that’s surely the building blocks of something?

Let’s give him time, and let him cook.
He needs time and some more of his own players.
What last night does show is that the idea that some on here have been saying that hes lost the dressing room and players have downed tools is a load of nonsense

Until the next time we lose and you knee jerk back to Smith out

Tetevano is on about £200k a year, so he has to go to free up a marquee spot or stay with a big pay cut. Not sure Fusitua will ever be really fit again, so I’d let him go too, agree about Donaldson. Bentley was really good at end of last season but not at that level yet this year. I would be surprised if he got a gig in the NRL, but who knows. Agree keep if we can. If we also lose Walters, Tindall and Lisone plus Leemjng has gone, that’s a lot of players to replace before Austin and Sezer come into play. I’d keep Austin and see how it goes with Sezer. It I’m guessing Sezer will be replaced.
To be honest, I forgot how young Bentley is. If we keep him, fair enough, but I'm not sure his style is suited to the current game. He's a sin bin waiting to happen. But he doesn't really have the power or size to enable him to tone down his aggression. He'll be one of the top earners as well, I think
Given the amount of players that are now looking likely to leave: Walters Tetevano Fusitua Tindall Sezer
We should definitely keep Bentley and Austin. Bentley is still young enough to regain his early form. And Austin shows flashes of good stuff in games. Said it before, not many players like him about. Well worth another year.
That still leaves a lot of recruitment to do. FB/winger Centre HB Prop (x2)
