Totally agree and if we are all to be honest it is long overdue and something that is needed to bring the whole sport in to the modern world and more professional form top to bottom. The sport as it is can not carry on like it has as it is diminishing rapidly and needs a real injection of change not just papering over the cracks as they have done before as underneath the cracks are now great chasms.

Lets be clear the room for error has gone due to the p!5s poor way the sport has been run both by the RFL and the SL clubs themselves. The changes they make have to be right from the start and the sport needs to have professional media and marketing to sell itself to the wider audience which is another area it continually shot itself in the foot. I think the lop fixture situation also needs addressing as its a league season that is an un level playing field for all teams as some benefit from the loop fixtures and others are disadvantaged as unless every team plays each other the same equal number of times both home and away how can the league standings at the end have any real integrity about them?

The criteria to meet the requirements to be a SL club need to be enforced rather than the blind eye that was turned. One of the biggest things has to be that all SL clubs run and reserve grade as well as youth development. As the failure to run a decent reserves set up generally in the sport is embarrassing, ground improvements/standards also need to be enforced.

Its certainly interesting and concerning times all round this off season for RL

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

I think it's just an interim measure to plicate Super league clubs who are losing the loop fixtures as a means of raising revenue. Good point about Championship clubs who get through to that round getting a home game though.

I like the two legs will be a definite home game for the clubs

So what happens if it's a blowout first match . Who's gonna go to the second match ? Say Batley beat Leeds in the first game. Then go and get blathered second game. Certainly no chance of upsets. Not a fan as it stands

Great if you get Catalan or Toulouse. Your relying on home fans but having said that, not many fans travel away for CC games. I think the best crowd in the cup was Cas in 2017. Can fans afford 2 trips to Catalans? Not being deliberately negative, I hope this all pans out, we won’t get another chance, think this is the last chance in the last saloon.

Stupid idea, any winning margin over about 3 converted tries in leg1 will mean people wont bother with leg2. It'd be the Football equivalent of a 3-0 first leg win.

I suspect they’ll make it part of the season ticket package. It’ll be a first competitive home game of the season, so should usually have some good interest from fans.

After initially thinking, WTF?, I now think it is fairly clever idea.

If it helps end loop SL fixtures, that’ll be widely seen as a positive.

If it becomes part of the season ticket package how does that increase revenue? The only game I can see, generating any cash in that scenario, is a Derby.
