i wouldnt be against it, hes been solid since he came back but hardly set the league alight
In a season where we’ve clearly had issues in the centre, the reluctance to give Halsall a good run has baffled me a bit I must admit. I can’t have it that he’s not a better option than Isa at the very least.

I agree and said the same plenty of times this season. Halsall has just been named as the MOM btw. If Wardle does come in, then Halsall needs to 1st injury cover option. It would be criminal if Isa and even worse, Toby King, get game time over him.
One thing I'll say about Wigan is that they aren't great at identifying weak spots during the season. Yeah Cooper was great and all, but when you let Zak go and know Thornley is goosed we should have brought in a centre. Personally I think it's the main reason we aren't in the GF next week. Same goes for last season, when it was obvious we needed another mid-season prop signing.

If he is not better than Isa or even KPP and probably BIbby than he should probably be let go, It does seem strange that given a known problem spot he has not been given a good run prove hiself, instead he was in and out of the team or shunted out to wing. He can't be worse than Thornely who only ever plays a game or two before breaking down injured again. There were periods in the season that were good opportunites to let halsall have a good run but we still moved the whole team around instead.
The obsession with playing second rowers at centre is one I definitely do not understand.

That’s positive and I thought he went very well at Gateshead too looked a class apart however when he has stepped up to the first team for me he hasn’t delivered.
I’m not writing him off however he clearly has talent but thus far he hasn’t made the most of his opportunities when presented to him.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

Yes, I agree we should have been looking at taking Wardle or King mid season. I think you’re going to dissapointed next season if you want Halsall to be ahead of King in the pecking order, I think a season on loan (with a recall clause) would be beneficial for Halsall.
I can see Halsall going. There's clearly doubts about him, and he's not a kid any more. As for 'ahead of King in the pecking order', I'd turn that on it's head: why the hell, in that case, are we bringing to the club a player who we don't even rate higher that the lad we already have who csn't command a regular spot?
