Would you be putting any of your own money into the club right now? I wouldn't.
I admit it's a risky strategy hoping that the supporters will stick around but unless you can match what Derek is spending at Leigh then what's the point?

The owner of Newcastle has already realised that it will take far more than he is willing to spend to reach super league.

I've said many times before that this division is completely busted and nothing has changed my mind. I know you get imbalance in many sporting divisions but this one certainly has to be up there.

There is no money in RL in general.
Think Koukash is backing Degsy as well as he is going all out this time round..
Leighs 2500 fans can't sustain that.
Maybe nige can't fund a bulls renaissance which is fine neither can I, its does beg the question WHY? what's to be gained other than the majority of the fan base now detest him.

I've often wondered what his motivation is. In recent interviews he said he wasn't all that enthusiastic about the job and he'd palmed it off on Sawyer for long enough. It really shows in how the club is run as a whole. If the owner can't be arsed then why should anyone else?

Yep, it's been on my mind as well. Probably out of everything, the question that needs answering the most in my opinion.

Yeah, I remember the whole "to you, to me" that went on between Mark Sawyer and Nigel Wood. Sawyer had obviously had enough and basically told Nigel to step up. He was VERY reluctant to do so if I recall

But was there anyone else? It didn't seem like there was...

At least we thanked Sawyer for all his hardwork by helping to relegate Dewsbury with our ineptitude.

I think Nige isn't interested in the day to day running of the club. He's interested in the more interesting aim of trying to pull off new stadium and new home for the RFL.

For all we slag him off it's the politics game he seems to be successful at and he proved with 'fax if he gets hands on with running the club it goes down the pan but if he can schmooze council people/MPs/others into getting it sorted for him then he gets decent amount of credit.

As for his ultimate motivation lord alone knows but I don't think he's expecting miracles in the next couple of years. I reckon he knows there's no point having a side challenging for promotion in the stadium we have. If the stadium plans fail (as per) then I think he'll offload.
