Newman needs to button it, not achieved anything like Kallum yet, I'm sure he undoubtedly will though. I despise Welsby from Saints and I don't want to be feeling the same about Harry

Thinking it and keeping it in house is one thing, but saying it in a public environment is poor imo. The respect Peet showed to Leeds in his after game interview was excellent. He comes across as class act. I appreciate he is the coach and Newman only a player, but I could never recall a similar public comment by Sinny, McGuire, Burrow etc.
So only semi publically. It's not like he said it to Sky sports. He said to a group of a hundred or so people. I agree he does need to channel his cockiness

I think it was a little tongue in cheek as well to be honest.
Pre match and when they were speaking afterwards, all the talk was about Field and French, and let’s be honest, Newman destroyed the pair of them. Even the table of Wigan fans and Kelvin Skerrett were laughing. Can’t knock a confident talent like that if you ask me.

Absolute rubbish to say Newman ‘destroyed’ them. Yes he played well and was in their face. Wigan and they had an off night. Plus this is a team game. The whole team contained Wigan well, including French and Field. Next time we play then they could run amok. That’s sport, and they are still top players…..

Newman creamed Field first shot he put on him, and French never got any change out of him. Give credit where it’s due, he had a blinder.
Mentioning the comparison with Connor, the thing again that sets Harry aside is he'll never rest on his self belief and natural talent he will work his backside off every day to be the best he can be. He earns it.
Admittedly I don't know Connor like I know harry but I just don't see it the same and Harry is a different level in his commitment, he showed that with his rehab.
He was always the sort of kid who was asking for feedback too and very Conscientious.

Reassuring to hear all that mate. Pretty sure any critical comments are only being made out of concern that any of his immense potential could be wasted.

Yeah completely,’and agree great character praise by Seth. We are probably all just sharing a bit of wisdom we’ve learnt as older blokes……
I think Newman's attitude is exactly why he will become a greater players than Watkins.
He has the right amount of ego and self-belief that Watkins never had.
To me, Watkins could have been the greatest Centre in SL history based on his physical ability. I think it was more a mindset/lack of ego that stopped him going to that level.
Newman and Welsby both posses that competitive edge and ego that it takes to become great.
