The lack of real quality youngsters last 10 years
The days of Horne, yeaman, Cooke, King coming through seem a lifetime ago
Who's the best youngster we've brought through last 8 years? Lane?
Lane is OK but he's not gunna ever be in line for a GB cap
A hotbed of RL we should be bringing better through saints and Wigan are still bringing top ones through
Yes it's been very poor. Some signs of improvement though with the Academy so let's hope some of this crop of 17-19 year old start to change our development record under the guidance of Shenton and Riding,.

Question is though is that down to the fact that due to financial aspects with the club when the likes of Horne, Cooke, King and Yeaman came through? So back then they were used more in the first 17 which gave them the experience and game time at that level to progress. I also think the landscape in terms of A team/reserve set up in the game was much better than the recent farcical situation of fixtures not being able to be fulfilled abd being messed about as whole?
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

In 10 years? Shaul, Lane, Fash, Brown, Wynne. Plus Litten, Abdul, Handley and Crooks at Rovers. A couple in the Championship.
Not terrible. Not good enough.
It does look like a corner might have been turned though. And it sounds like the club are building an infrastructure that should see us do better in the future.
Right now it's the least of my concerns at the club.

Wouldn't get close to Yorkshire 1st team though and that's my point
Likes of Lane, Fash, bowden are average really
Shaul and Lineham have been our best last 10 years but neither are close to Horne yeaman or Cooke level really

Hopefully our new University base can help this by strengthening our relationship with some Hull based community clubs and also help community club coaches improve.
