No alcohol allowed at my place of work. At all. In fact all employees agree to random drug and alcohol testing as part of their contract of employment. This can take place at any time if the company suspects you are under the influence, and random testing is carried out at least twice a year by an outside company. This was the case at both my current and previous place of employment. My last place of employment was in the textile industry for a smallish firm, I now work in the chemical industry for a global multi national and that policy is in place across all their places of business worldwide. Drinking in the workplace just seems crazy to me, when they are supposed to be doing something so critical!
In the interests of balance I thought I'd mention that I met a junior Minister yesterday to tell them about some of the work my team has been doing throughout the pandemic and since. She was lovely, engaged, interested and relatable. However you may feel about the cabinet, beneath them are very many junior ministers who put in some real graft and genuinely care about their portfolio.
I think in these polarised days where we claim every Labour MP is a raging Commie and all Tories being fascists, we need to recognise there are a myriad of MPs who genuinely care across the political spectrum. They are not "all the same". Not remotely.

Well unless you move to Ukraine you would stand little chance of seeing de Pfeffel in the North. He now considers delivering a book about the queen by hand was more important than levelling up. He even lied to his own Northern MP’s who were waiting for him to discuss this very situation. I suppose when you have nothing to say and three European leaders have dared to go to Ukraine it is vital you look to appear to be a world leader rather than a unethical leader of a troubled country.

Also, what about him trying to employ his missus as a £100k "adviser" ??
He appears to have a liking for using tax payers money to pay for his lady friends, be it pole dancing or chief of staff. It is unfortunate that his press enablers buried the story.

unfortunately they didn't bury it any where deep enough and its now suffering from the Streisand effect! what's annoying is this constant drip drip drip of information - if they had got it all out there at once he'd be gone by now. watch out for the next Starmer revelation where the media will be horrified that he got his mother-in-law a free packet of crisps and be calling for him to resign as a result.
another year of the nasty sleaze bucket living it up drinking champagne whilst half the country struggle to keep warm, sit in the dark to save money and live on beans on toast - makes my blood boil.
the future's bright the future's claret and gold

Looks like the Tories favourite newspaper owner of The Mail has been given a seat in the house of Lords ?? The same newspaper that described the Lords as "House of unelected wreckers", when it suited them.
Dirty and sleazy doesn't come close to describing this lot.
It's like feeding time at the farm of Tory sleaze, all filling their pockets with taxpayers money, whilst the nation pulls its collective belt ever tighter.
