Good to see Newcastle Thunder playing so well, reminds me how we once played! quite a few of our old boys. Nice size ground for Newcastle Falcons, they have done well & seem committed to Rugby League.
1. Workington have ceased announcing attendances. It would seem that this tactic has now been re-adopted by the Broncos after its success of hiding how far we had fallen 2015 onwards......it's like a naughty child in denial as to how crap we are....and I suspect that the appearance of sales pre bradford game was skewed, as I've heard from some in attendance that there was fewer than the york game.
2. I'd call that game "entertaining" but without either team playing "well". Newcastle are EXACTLY the model we should have adopted at Trailfinders but after Hughes f$#@3d up the relationship at Quins, he was never going to try again. Newcastle see the benefit of working together......alas, our owner doesn't play well with others. I see 2 of our previous landlords went at it at the weekend.....the exiles now at Brentford have increased their average gate by 50%+ (and therefore their income) whilst Quins are heading for a top 4 spot and an almost full ground average in regular season games.......but Hughes knew best
