And as pointed out players at the time Leeds players didnt win MOM was voted by players.

At last you are proving my point that MOS these days has little value, for quite a few seasons the players vote was a farce seem to remember one particular player getting lots of votes who had on;y played 2 games that season.
For me the Man of Steel should be just that someone who is very tough, durable and lifts his team when backs are against the wall. That trait has been forgotten for well over a decade now the likes of Farrell, Graham, Peacock wouldn't be considered now.

Our man Ben Barba won the MOS in 2018 after just 20 games but was rubbish for the last quarter of the season, that "man of Steel Trait" that season was Jonny Lomax who remarkably has never won Man of Steel. Jonny Lomax gets hammered every game yet is still great in defence and attack, controls a game under pressure and has high try assists year after year

I think the title needs to be addressed some people have the mindset the best player in Superleague is the one who has won the MOS.

The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you.
Welsby-Dodd-Simms-Eaves-Rizzelli, not Eastmond...the future is coming.

But you’re a Warrington fan right? Just going off the username…..or are you a brain dead troll?

I am not proving your point as my point is if it isnt a St helens player who wins the mos it is irrelevant as already stated 13 players at stains are better than abdul as quoted,do you not see my point that you and your fans are so biased that it is laughable

As you pointed out Barba won it (saints player) but Lomax should of won it (saints player) probably followed by 11 other saints players of which order i dont know but you will no doubt

He is a great player, I have acknowledged that as have the majority of people on this post. You have said that he is undeniably the best player in the competition though, which you have then contradicted by suggesting it could be Walmsley.

For what it’s worth, I think Walmsley is better. Sam Tomkins is still the premier player in the competition for me though. I won’t say that is undeniable though, because it is just my opinion.

However, happy to be proven wrong when the season starts.

That's the Sky TV influence. They hype a player up (Usually because Phil Clarke's brother is their agent) and everyone suddenly regards them as a superstar. Toby King is one that springs to mind. Had a few good games, got built up as the reincarnation of Paul Newlove by Sky, got his new contract and went back to being Mr Average.

Tomkins also had a decent two or three games last year and got hyped up to the nines. He had no impact in multiple games and still got 3 MOS points because the games weren't televised. Lachlan Coote is a better player than Sam Tomkins and unquestionably the best back in Super League (Apart from Jack Welsby). He could win MOS next year at Hull KR as there won't be as much competition for points from his own team.

I think the bookies have it right having Tomkins outside the top 15 for MOS betting for next year.

It's always been like that. Often good players anyway but then with astonishing sky hype piled on top. Danny Maguire, a great lad and fabulous support player was elevated to some sort of world beating genius. We started to call him "The Lord Maguire" in recognition of his new status.

How do you know he had no impact if the games weren't televised?
