Fair enough, doesn't really make any difference to the point though. Anyone who thinks we wouldn't lose thousands off attendance and sky viewers if we went on at the same time is living under a rock.

I’m a hard core Wigan fan, I go to pretty much every game home and away but I’ve waited a lifetime to watch England win a football tournament. Alongside wanting to see GB/England win a rugby league series or tournament by beating the Aussies, it’s the two things I’m absolutely desperate to see. Due to that I’d prioritise watching England over Wigan at the minute. This decision to bring the Huddersfield game forward is therefore a very sensible one IMO.

We got about 5000 on a Wednesday night If England reach their first major final in 55 years there won't be a seat left in pubs, people will be having BBQs etc and fair play to em
3 till 8, a 5 hr sesh before kick off, I'd be comatose before a ball had been kicked

Minus the England RL part, in exactly the same.
I think back to my dad's era and how lucky he must have been to watch the 66 final. I know many aren't RU fans, but I loved the win back in 03 and have been lucky enough to watch them in 2 subsequent finals after that.

I thought 6k plus STs was a pretty good effort given the uncertainty of the covid situation and not knowing if you were going to be able to see any games at all and considering you were definitely going to miss the first 2 or 3 dur to restrictions.
The big question is After the fall in ST numbers from over 10k 8/9 years ago to around 8k 2 years ago, will the club be able to get back to the 8kish mark they were at before we even tqlk about getting back to the 10kish we should/could be at.
Agree that it may be a 4k attendance if England reach final.
Unbelievably, the club are turning season ticket holders away. I haven’t had a ST for a few years due to me and my wife working opposite shifts and having young kids. It just wasn’t practical because I’d always miss too many games. However, I’m now working Monday to Friday and my kids are a bit older. I contacted the club at the start of the season and was told I’d missed the season ticket deadline. This was before a ball was kicked! I asked for a better explanation expecting Covid to have meant they had to reduce numbers or something similar but received nothing back other than, sorry you missed the deadline. I find it astonishing that any Superleague club can turn new ST holders away.

It was great to see 5.5k fans who couldn't have cared less about the football, and the same would have been the case for a 6.30 Huddersfield kick off, even had England made the final!
Not everyone is obsessed about football. For me its disappointing they've moved, was a welcome alternative and something to do to avoid the hysteria. Would have certainly gone at 6.30pm but at 3pm not so sure. Think there are many who feel the same way, so will win as much as they lose IMO.
Exactly the same position for me. Now emailed twice and told they’re not on sale. Initially told they would be after the govs last announcement, then told they would publish reduced ST prices for the remainder of the season before the wire game. This came I emailed and they said it would be last week….still no news!
ATM it’s clear we have a lot less ST holders than 6k capacity due to COVID so they should be doing all they can to sell more tickets. At least, you,I and anyone else who has enquired should be given a cost and sold a ticket, but they should also still have them on sale.
Loosing thousands in the most economically challenging season since the war years. Sums up just how poorly run the club is at the minute. It’s obvious leneghan has given up and just wants out IMO as it’s cascading through every level of the club
