It’s not questionable, there was no fee. At a push Wakefield probably paid any costs involved as a gesture. Their may also be some reciprocal arrangement regarding loan players that may come your way.
Sorry but I did warn you, nobody pays for players these days unless they are an exceptional player.
If we sold Tom Johnstone before his contracts up we might get 50k though we would claim it was twice that. He’s the only one we have and much as I like Battye he’s not in that range.

So you're saying London and Wakefield have both released a statement that's untrue?

Well if you claim you got £100k for a £50k player i'm sure HMRC will enjoy looking for whoever trousered the other £50k
Looking at the squad, we need a couple of forwards and a back at least imho
Before last season ended early, we were weaker than a few sides we were challenging with. They have improved, we have not really improved, more just maintained. If we dont beef the pack up we will get bullied by a few teams. Its a long season and a couple of injuries would hurt an already thin squad (if we are talking about mounting a title challenge). We have made some good signings, and I am happy but we need a few more if we re serious about going up

Of course, we don't claim that to HMRC but they don't care what mixed messages we put out the media do they.
I know this sounds a bit patronising but I actually find the naivety of London fans quite refreshing. You're nicely insulated down there from the skullduggery of SL and trust me you've just dealt with the most honest setup in SL. I guarantee you MC will have been fair.

Yup, I've been involved in RL for years and fees are funny things at times. You don't want to believe me fine, I don't blame you I'm just an anonymous poster but I know I'm right.
I especially know I'm right because Trinity doesn't have the money to pay any serious kind of fee, we just don't. It would make me proud if we had paid a decent fee, to be honest but we are just not there yet sadly.

In your post above this response, you state Wakefield is the most honest club in SL and then, point out to me they are lying in your next post.
I believe a fee was paid as both clubs have corroborated this in their respective news release, now, whether that was £5, £5k or a glass of coke and a packet of crisps I don't know but, given Broncos have let people go for free before and taken some stick for it, I can't see why they would now decide to start lying and Wakefield would be a willing accomplice.
