Obviously it increases the rewards for a difficult kick but also encourages more attempts. Is more attempted goals what we are looking for as a sport?

Stupid rule change which nobody will even try to use, same as the 20/40 change that came in last season.

The good rule change is that if the physio demands the game be stopped to treat a injured player they have to be subbed or stay off the field for 2 minutes, so wont have the same situation as the Melbourne physio stopping the game for somebody with cramp.

It would give another tactical dimension, option of 2 points v 7 tackle 20m restart risk.

No one would be obliged to go for the drop goal. You assess the scoring options to give you the best chance of winning. That’s always been the case.

Yes, I’d rather see Hull score and win by several tries every week, however if we where at Wembley or in the Grand Final with a minute to go and trailing by a point, I wouldn’t be saying ‘dear oh dear’ if our tactics were for Sneyd to score a winning drop goal from over 40m out.
