We'll never know if our youngsters are good enough unless you give them a chance. Brown has proven he's good enough and does not need wrapping in cotton wool. Why would it be murdering Jack Brown to play regularly? It's not done Partington, Smithies or Byrne any harm at Wigan has it? Who coincidentally released Flower because of age and the youngsters emergence.
You stifle these players development signing older released players and then what does that do for their confidence. You'll never find the stars of tomorrow if you don't play them today. This talk of signing older players is nonsense.

Even then with Casty, there is a reason Catalans are letting him go, he will be on much more than Brown, so it's value for money on the cap, we already have 3 high earning props, do we want a 4th. Would Wigan or Saints sign Casty or looking to promote one of their youth players.
I've been really impressed with Brown, I don’t think he is far off, main issue is his defensive strength, but another off season could help with that. I'd rather play Brown than sign Casty personally.
Well we are looking for another middle according to the interview with our new coach, Jack is a great prospect, as the original conversation was about who we may bring in, Casty is available, and regarding salary he could be offered a deal which suits all, a one year deal perhaps.

Our new coach apparently is looking to do this,
So it’s Remy for me as he’s available, but would of equally been happy with Seb, Koppy, or another solid experienced prop.
But I’ve got to admit your championing of our youth and structures, is more refreshing than your usual style of negativity, and sticking the boot in.
Keep it up.
No style of negativity at all from me or sticking the boot in. I'm approaching the season with renewed optimism. If you don't like people disagreeing with your championing of signing 34 years + props deemed not good enough for other clubs and released then don't post. I merely disagree with your reasoning and think it's a pointless waste of cap space and restricts the development of our younger players. If your happy to sign these older players then good on you but our club is not going to progress with that attitude. Just my opinion of course. I'd rather we go with Brown and blood other youngsters if they're considered good enough. A 19 year old scored the winning try in the GF. Good job he's not at Hull or you'd have him no where near the 1st team

Whoa there Boyes boy, your original post, never mentioned old players, it’s underneath.
When I mentioned if you found Joe Cator in that bargain bucket, you’ve changed tack.
Why are we discussing players not considered good enough for our rivals and so released as a way of improving our team. If they were good enough, offered value for money they would be retained. It's like discussing the bargain bin at Boyes.

and we shouldn’t look at other teams released players baloney.
Omg. The players you were advocating signing were released from their respective club in order to reduce the age of the squad, therefore they are older players that are being released, players you said we should look at signing. Following so far?
I merely disagreed with your point stating that they would not benefit our club and that it would stifle young players development and progression but then again you're of the opinion our younger players shouldn't be murdered by playing them regularly
The other player you mentioned, Koppy (as you call him), released by Wakefield, yes Wakefield, a team that finished brlow us, you would gladly sign. Strange how Featherstone have signed him but you'd look at him for Hull!!
I merely disagree with your flawed point. Think we've bored each other and probably everyone else enough now with this one.
