Gutted personally as a fan of both and can’t help but wonder what that could mean regards the ground. Hopefully all will turn out well but it’s a real sign if the times.
On the BBC.. I wonder what's going through IL's mind...............................

aboveusonlypie... If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.

I’m shocked to be honest, I’m no lover of Latics but it’s incredibly sad to see this. It also makes a complete mockery of the FA’s “fit owners” test. How a club can be bought by apparently wealthy Chinese businessmen only to then go to the wall is criminal.
On a selfish note it could also have dire consequences for us given Latics own the stadium. Can we afford to run it if the worst should happen? It’s a lot more than just a football club, it also involves us.
I hope Latics can be saved, not just for us, but because no club should go through this and no fan deserves to have their club disappear.

Didn't see that one coming, but yes, something rotten in the state of Hong Kong. On the wider impact to us, what does this do to the rent on the ground? will the stadium want a larger wedge from us if the Latics are in penury or are they likely to be hit too?

Latics will go bottom if the 12 point penalty is applied this season, this will mean that they are 4 points from safety with 6 games to play.I think that the owners have taken a calculated gamble as they are playing well and they have taken 9 points from their 3 games that they have played since the return after lockdown,i think that they will be just fine and will be in the championship next season
