Think you have got hold of the wrong end of the stick. Tony Smith was not having a go at your club. His ire was directed at Saints for fielding a badly weakened team twice against you. Saints lost three matches and ended up in top spot. Two of the defeats were against the bottom club. Selections like that skew the league table. In the past clubs were required to put out their best available players. This sadly does not now apply. Yes you can only play what is infant of you and credit to London for doing far better than anyone outside London expected. You cannot deny that you benefited from the actions of the Saints' coach. You may have beaten a nearly full strength Saints side once but to do it twice would stretch the imagination. Our game loses credibility if it continues to allow clubs to act in the way Saints did this season.
