Is what got the two points tonight.

You cannot knock the spirit of the team the way they played tonight was superb.

If we survive this season that will be seen as the starting point.

Need two wins out of the next three games.

Anything less and we will be drawn back into a relaxation battle

Well done the youngsters

Huddersfield Giants 2013 over achievers

Where on earth has Tom Holmes been, ran the show tonight and can’t half offload and leeming stepped up tonight playing 60 minutes and scorning a beautiful try

Holmes showed more tonight than Frawley has all season

Great effort by the lads, liked the aggression from Wilson too

Unfortunately for aob but his injury and bringing Wilson and English on in the first half was the turning point. Great team spirit to stick together, special mention to kruise (worldie try), jake Wardle (great try) and Tom Holmes (as mentioned) showed more in one game then frawley all season. The win tonight gives us breathing space and hopefully kick on up the league.

Tom holmes showed a great awareness of how to control a game, good decision making, good kicking game and strong defensively- didn’t miss a tackle, made plenty.
Clough and taai were tough down the middle.
When the two polar bears came on the game changed- although they didn’t bust through or make big yards they showed a lot of intent and the energy of the rest lifted when they came on.
I’m still cautious however as the first 30 minutes we were pretty poor- if we were playing a better side we could have been 24 points behind at that point and the game would have been gone.
The resilience shown and the leadership to control the way the game went from holmes was a massive positive.

You can't start the game with Murphy, Clough , Lawrence on the field in the forwards and expect to compete in the territory battle, its a case of TMP (Too many plodders). They may be able to tackle, but when you spend 80% of the game on your own line because you don't make yards going forward it's inevitable you will concede.

There are good signs for the future if we can keep hold of the undoubted young talent we have and actually sign some decent older players (massive IF). Remember as i stated earlier that Woolford wanted Hastings and was trying his best to get him. Even in defeat he was the best player on the pitch last night, how good would we have been with him running things this year instead of Frawley?

Clough 29 tackles 0 misses 137 metres
Lawrence 37 tackles 1 miss 142 metres

might explain why they started. Hardly a lack of yardage.

I can assure you that most of them metres came in the 2nd half. We are always on the back foot in games for the first 10-20 mins as we were last night. Our pack is very very poor for me in all.

As of next year, the likes of Murphy and the year after Clough and Bruno should start becoming squad players and need replacing with better players.

I actually think the problem in the first stint was Seb, penalties, errors, no yardage and average defence.
