never rated him when he played for leeds when he did so hope he can up his game for this one, if he can't show against this leeds team and at least look the part I'd wouldn't find him other that a squad player and not worthy of a position to get you back up. cross fingers lets hope hes come of age seen too many drop away

Unfair to judge him on today's game given the gulf between the sides.

Both Lilley and Rowan posed significant danger to Leeds today.

Massive performance from Jordan that showed exactly what Leeds were missing. His spirit and leadership was awesome and he was one of stand out players today. Compare the way Lilley led our team to the way Kallum Watkins led Leeds. That's what the Rhinos are missing. Watkins was anonymous when Leeds weren't going to get their own way. Jordan stood up and rallied our players when we were on the back foot. The MOTM award was the icing on the cake.

I have to admit that I felt a sense of satisfaction at this. It's like it was written in the stars or something. Pleased for the kid - he gets a lot of attention and criticism and he clearly is handling it well.

It just shows how mis-managed the Rhinos are at the moment. Telling a player he's not got a future with the club in the week leading up to him playing against that club? You don't think he's going to up his game for that match? And he certainly did

I thought that at the time, but RFL rules are that all players with an option on their contract had to be told by last week

Exactly correct. On the face it sounds crazy, but apparently it's nothing to do with Leeds' timing, it's to do with RFL deadlines. Same as the anti-tampering rule is supposed to stop clubs talking to contracted players until May of the year they expire, contract extensions have to be told to the player around the same time.

Otherwise Leeds could just not tell Lilley his contract isn't being extended, and then it stops him being able to talk to anyone else until he gets released in November. Or they let him talk to people now, he agrees to join someone else, then Leeds invoke their extra year option and scupper it.
