| And on tv you get the benefit of replay in slow motion, officials call what they see when it happens. And never said they don’t make mistakes, but every player gets it drilled into the from being a kid, play to the whistle

| I will also offer up the thought that as a fan sat stood maybe 50 60 70 mtrs away from an event it might look very different to what the player or ref 5 mtrs away has seen.
50 - 70 metres is no distance at all after all its not fans who rely on Specsavers its the ref and they do a really good job is dissuading fans to use them

| So if something happens, and you are stood next to it, then the bloke stood 50 mtrs away tell you that you are wrong, do you believe what you saw or the bloke 50 mtrs away. What’s a shirt sponsor got to do with anything?
Think the best indication of a fans view is the bloke who can see the offside and forward pass from behind the sticks..
The reality is, if the ref calls it, then players need to shrug there shoulders deal with it and get on with the game.
Never yet in any sport seen a ref change there mind because a player saw it a different way.
You don’t like what the refs do, fine, but again what’s yrs answer! What solution would you offer!
Get better Refs? Where from? Train more! When?

| This constant defending of referees is a bit tiring tbh. I don't like it when refs get it wrong the same as when a player knocks on or drops a catch.
The difference is that both should be open to criticism. We are talking about full time professional refs here over the last few games, I get it's a difficult and mostly thankless job but please stop with the what's your solution? angle and just just note that sometimes refs cock up as does the rest of the human race.
Why the obsession to come up with a counter point to everything that's noted on a refs performance is beyond me sorry.
Saturday was one of the most frustrating performances I've seen from a ref, personally I think he had a nightmare, could I do better? most certainly not but im not getting paid to do it, the ref is and when justified they should be criticised.
