Amidst all the talk about Manni's cryptic tweets, its important to remember that the planning application for Newmarket's Reserved Matters is still PENDING!

This is despite the determination deadline being almost 2 months ago! One could only assume that 180 objections (including one from an MP) is making the council hesitant. Let's not take our eye off this application; the nature of the objector's comments makes it really important.

Remember this application is important regardless of whether you want a stadium at Newmarket or Belle Vue. A favourable outcome on this application is crucial for ANY stadium project to go ahead.

I was looking at this the other week and was hoping the delay was something to do with the proposed Belle Vue development.

I’m no expert in this situation, but does anyone think it could be beneficial to send a few emails around to Andrea Jenkyns, enquiring about the delay? Quoting the application reference number 17/03102/REM

It would show we haven’t forgotten and will remain vigilant. It could be the council’s plan to make a decision when everyone has moved on. So let’s just, not move on!

Like I say I’m no expert, but what are people’s thoughts?

Exactly !!

And for all those out there who still think Belle Vue will be re developed, dream on, the bloke has no intention of spending a penny on the dump.

I also think his pathetic antics are doing us a favour because anyone who still feels Belle Vue would be a good option should now stop and think about it. The last thing this club needs is an individual like Hussain having any influence ,control or involvement.

True, but what if it was the only option on the table outside of upping sticks and going to Dewsbury? Which in my opinion (If permanent) would be the end of Wakefield Trinity.

MC did an interview with TalkSport this week and said something along the lines of he had been in contact with council employees who have asked him to be patient (like he hasn't been already!), things are happening in the background, he hopes to release news soon. Admitted that if nothing happens quickly we will once again look down other avenues.

You can listen back to the interview on the TalkSport website - https://talksport.com/rugby-league/rugby-league-talksport-2-podcast-3-may-2018-180503281387 - the interview starts about 12 mins in, stadium discussion about 18 mins in.

Could be the most important meeting in our great clubs history and for sport in the City of Wakefield, let's hope there's a deal all parties can work with and a positive outcome.

Up the Trin
