I think you will just have a bit too much, however the game is a must win for you really. We were expected to be in the bottom 4, so can play with a bit of freedom. If we pile the pressure on early days and make it uncomfortable then the game becomes anybodies. We've definitely improved as a squad from round 1, it will be much more competitive this time around for sure.
I'd have BJB over the one-trick pony (and knock-on king) that is Carney every time. Agree that Vaivai looks decent but this early in his superleague career he remains a poor mans Bill Tupou. As for McGuire the direct comparison is Finn. Both are past their best, slowing rapidly and should probably call it a day. McGuire has the big game experiece and the winners medals that Finny can only dream of but he has had to re-model his game to a controlling one over the last couple of years and it's one that he still doesn't look fully at ease with, whereas Finn has always had that role and mastered it a long time ago. Even stevens probably but Finn gets my vote as he is our goalkicker. Danny the mouth is the better referee though.
Am desperate to see us win but sadly, the game has a dominance from the officials wishing to be centre stage. Errors and penalties reduced will be significant towards our own destiny. James Child is a toilet.

I agree about BJB. He doesn't quite get the attention because of Tom but he's just as good imho, just different. Carney isn't our kind of player. McGuire however, is a top player. He'd get in my team. I like Finn a lot but I think I'd choose McGuire over him. At his best I'd pick him over Miller too.

up the Trin
I agree about Child (and some others), however, if we complete sets as we did against Cas (in the first half) it matters not. We need to cut out the errors and try not to give the ref any excuse to penalise us.
It's no wonder we run out of steam in the second half as we are having to defend like Trojans in the first 40. Btw, is this why Hirst went off against Cas or, did he pick up a knock

Every game we've played we seem to have 10 start with the bookies I lobbed on our team last week with 12 start against Leeds it softened the blow of defeat a bit

Finn is terrible, let's not pretend otherwise. He's probably about the only player in your team I am not sure any other team would want. BJB i really like, just not sure he's the tenacity to be a top top winger. On form carney is destructive, and a great finsher. BJB is only the latter, not sure what hes like defensively as I aint seen enough of that side of him, although carney is a bit suspect at that.
Maguire doesn;t ref for us, probably cos hes not playing for the big boys now so every decision goes against not for you. As seen on sunday previous

Finn is not terrible.
Carney is destructive? Agree he has some explosive power for a winger however he had been dealt with pretty well by every winger he has come up against this season, he has no way the same impact he did a few years ago at Castleford. Out of interest, why did you fail to mention that BJBs light jogging pace and great agility and balance would run rings around Carney? As he has done on occasions in the past? You also talk about his finishing but he is just about the only winger in the league that cant do the one handed acrobat dive into the corner.
In conclusion the only thing Carney has on anyone is explosive power, which is highlighted on the wing apart from that he is; Outpaced by every winger in the league, absolutely terrible under the high ball, is less agile than any other winger in the league (He has the turning circle of a truck). All things to target from a Wakefield perspective.

Carney's destructive from two yards out if he doesn't knock on, he's not capable of scoring from 20 yards out or more, we've a winger that can't get a game that's in a different class to him.
Carney is a lump when going full pelt, just get him before he gets going and he's nothing like as potent.
Saw Jamie Peacock in Hull this week, wandering around a half empty building looking lost, there are only two occupiers of the building, the NHS and Tribunals service, I dunno which he was visiting...
