Hopefully we will have 1 or 2 more players before we meet again

Was told twice last night by separate curly turd fans that we had a near full strength team out versus their kids One even said KR didn't play any kids at all.God knows what they would have been like if they'd actually won? I don't think any Rovers fan is reading anything into this as majority of both packs were missing plus centres etc. Both teams will have different goals this season but with Australia and real sense of entitlement after cup wins it won't take much for the boo boys to come out

Rightly so, it'd be way too depressing.

Our expectations as fans are rightly way higher than yours are. I'm not sure that it translates to a sense of entitlement, but a reasonable expectation that baring a total catastrophe on the injury front, our squad on paper (& going off the last 2 seasons) should be up there mounting a serious challenge for both trophies once again.

I'd agree with that. Just seems little credit for our youngsters or concession we also had lots of first 17 missing?Factor in Lee playing 1 minute Addy injury Masoe dead leg and Clarkson head knock.Carney Quinlan only playing half.We had plenty of positives. With that many changes and particularly young uns it's a credit to both it didn't turn into a stop start waste of time like other friendly have. Iv read on your forum your fans take on our team and how our season will go and it does seem common theory we will struggle? May be proved correct ?But I have suspicion you guys may fall flat and it could be a strange season. Both Radford and Sheens are among the favourite for the sack with bookies which I found odd? Anyway all speculation and for us its just nice to be back. RRTR

Do you really need to seek any credit from your rivals? Doesn't really matter does it.

You said it yourself in the last post that people shouldn't read much into it. It's a friendly, some players were missing, some youngsters played - bog standard friendly. Round 1 is where it counts.

The general consensus amongst all fans is that Rovers will struggle, not just FC fans. Up from the championship & only signed a couple of players - it's a fair prediction to make before a ball is kicked.

We could fall flat on our faces, true. We've seen it with Leeds & Warrington the last two seasons, so there's precedent for it. We could go and win the GF.

Again I agree. A couple of signings would be nice but looks unlikely before season starts? I expect Heffernan to go well and the pack is solid if not huge.plenty of decent depth in squad just maybe 2 or 3 higher quality players needed on paper? Sheens seems content enough with his players though, so that will do for me

He's got to appear confident though hasn't he.

I think it's a fair assumption to make that you have a chunk of cap space and 1(or 2?) Non-Fed places. Looking at some of the players in past seasons that pop up as available mid-season, it might be a blessing in disguise keeping some powder dry.

You only have to look at the VT predictions thread everyone including our own fans has us in the bottom 4 I hoping more than anything that we sneak into the 8 I think you may struggle a bit early on with the Australia trip but you've got a really strong squad so expect you to be up Top 4 at the business end of the season

Addy's out long term, which is bad news for him and us. Best wishes to him for his recovery.

Add my best wishes as well, gutted for the lad, but with the right help he should have a long career to look forward to. It has given our coaching staff a problem as I think Danny was the fall back option for our spine positions as well as a top player in his own right. As for others writing us off I think we may surprise a few as they all seem to forget we have one of leagues top three or four most successful coaches still in the game anywhere in the world.
