Some cracking double standards, particularity on the secret forum, championing the signing of Carney, whilst still have digs at Kelly. Lost the moral high ground on that one now.
Also making out like Sheens is some kind of magician who can fix all these players, so far in the English game, Sheens hasn't proved anything yet, he has built a squad with cap 2/3 times everyone else, big test will come in the middle 8's, to see how good the "Wizard" is.

Wasn't Carney at Salford when Sheen was? Didnt seem to have that much of an effect then!
Circling back roughly towards the original topic of this thread it shows how important it is for Hull to get recruitment and retention right because Salford are showing that they are serious in making their move from an undisciplined rabble into proper contenders. By shipping out both Carney's they have purged themselves of expensive tool heads and don't seem to have any seriously disruptive players left in their squad.
As for Carney, a perfect fit for the dobbins. Scum bag, on the decline, poor disciplinary record and won't be too cheap - what more do you want? The best bit is he has 5 free weeks to introduce himself to his new team mates WAGs.
Pleased to hear Mini and Washbrook will likely get new contracts.
If Talanoa is getting a new contract I wouldn't keep Michaels, while he is reliable he hasn't been first choice winger with a fully fit squad and would prefer to see Naughton or Rawsthorne given a chance instead.

Michaels was first choice winger all last season lest you forget. Personally I'd have him over talanoa every week. He might not have the brute strength but in other areas he's hugely better than FT, that being defensively.
People keep saying we can free up a quota spot by releasing Michaels, yes that's true, but for whom, a big name Australian/NZ NRL star to replace Ellis, I don't think so. A big name star to play on the wing or in the centres, nope, in the halves maybe, not there either, what about in the backrowers, nope, we have mini there as our big earner and from the way pearson and Radford were talking a few weeks back I don't think we'll be signing a marquee player. But why MUST we free up a quota spot for next season when of the two players SM is massively more valuable to us than FT? I agree that we need to be looking long term to bring players through and it's a bloody shame we lost Lancaster as the kid was scoring tries for fun when he got his chance but others hopefully can come through in the same way Minikin at Cas has. in the meantime SM gets a wing spot for me with the aim to bring in a younger player and we release FT.

Came into the side when Fonua got injured, then Carols was moved to halves, Logan ws injured which meant Fonua was moved to Centre freeing up the wing spot, fully fit side i don't think he would be first choice other wise he would have been given nummber 2 or 5 by now
