Think that may well have gone to his head and altered his attitude. He got a chance then seems to have stalled and reading between the lines it seems to be down to attitude. Top marks to the club and coaching staff as it shouldn't matter how good you are or think you are if your attitude is wrong and not in the ethos of the club then the door should rightly be shown.
100%, being a local lad counts for nothing if your attitude isn't right.

I'd like nothing more than to see a successful team full of Hull born and raised players, but if it's not right for the club and coaching staff at the moment, then so be it. If Lancaster (or anyone else) hasn't forced their way into the team, then so be it.
Absolutely dead right. Good enough players make their own case for selection. Furthermore does anyone seriously think that Radford and Motu would deliberately seek out an overseas winger and blow a quota spot if there was a local (and in all likelihood cheaper) option with similar ability available? Yes Lancaster has potential in there and real pace isn't something that can be coached or trained for, but at the moment he's looking like a poor man's Kevin Penny. Penny, to his credit, had the character and application to get himself back into SL - I wonder if Lancaster has?
Finally which coach gave Lancaster his chance in the 1st team? Surely can't be Radford as he doesn't trust youth.

I was suprised/disappointed last easter Monday v wire how little he'd come on. Made a couple of errors. Looked petrified under the high ball and got cemented on a few returns Seen him a few times in the reserves..Again left underwhelmed in his general play. Tries/speed mega. Rest not so Hopefully he can go on and prove himself and make it to the top. But my trust is in the coaches who see him every game and most days in training

I know it's early days but HTW is playing for York and they are having a terrible season and Dean can't get into the Wolfpack side, like me you have only seen these players play the odd first team game mainly in friendlier, we don't see them either day like the coaching staff.
People said the same about Lee and Lyne and we haven't regretted those being released (in fact I can't think of one young player that was a mistake (Hodgson maybe)) in the last few years.
I hope they do well, but without anything to back up your statement that the players weren't handled well, it's hard to believe.

Wasn't Hodgson a salary cap issue?. Sure Agar said at the time we'd like to have kept him but we had Berrigan and Houghton as well at the time.

He wanted to leave to play first team, just unfortunate we had an Australian international and the best young hooker in the league at the time. A different time and we wouldn't have released him.

When any youngster signs they know unless they are a better than the current players they are not going to get many chance to play unless injuries kick in and thats the same at every Club.If you was Radford would you drop Talanoa, Micheals, ect and play Lancaster just to keep him happy or would you wait and see if he has the fight and willingness to improve and prove he is worthy of a spot.

For me, I wouldnt have resigned Michaels and I would have gone with Lancaster as back up (or Naughton). Could have used the quota spot on an impact forward then.
