British Sea Power, Sonic Youth, The Wedding Present, Wire, The Membranes, are wonderful bands.

Totally with you on that - they're an absolute joy; I don't think they've ever done anything that I haven't instantly loved.

In more modern terms - The Fleet Foxes are a band I fell in love with when I first heard them; the sound, the vocals, the lyrics - totally does it for me. I saw them live twice and can happily say that they are one of the best live bands I've ever seen - much better live than recorded in fact. Much joy to hear today therefore, that they're back from self-imposed exile, sans Father John Misty, with a new album and British tour dates upcoming for the end of 2017.

This week I am still listening to Phish. If you have never come across them they are probably the biggest English language band that you have never heard of. My wife hates them with a passion. If you like the whole jam band scene try Moe. Possibly try Govt Mule. This is where you find the followers of the Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers. If you are the type of person who is buying the Rainbow live releases you might appreciate the length of the tracks.

I like their ice cream.

Not only have they had an ice cream named after them but they also starred in an episode of the Simpsons.
