We've had no-one come onto the scene and cement a regular place in the 17 since Shaul at the back end of 2013(Albeit due to injury to McDonnell), isn't that somewhat worrying that our youth system hasn't produced a break through player in getting on for three years?

Not worried at all, there are a few players ready to play, it's just fortunate that we haven't had too many injures, like this season has shown its a squad game.

Griffin relaces Micheals (Fonua on the wing)
Connor to replace Carlos (who replaced Pryce)

4 centres fighting for 2 spots
4 wingers fighting for 2 spots.

Really happy with our recruitment and how young and strong our squad looks.

Very good stats with him contributing to a quarter of there try's and that's in a poor side.

Cant comment on his tries but a good player will always stand out in a struggling team yet when i have watched Huddersfield i never noticed him.
the comment below pasted from a Hudds supporter on their forum sums up the signing for me.

I was always slightly disappointed with Connor - he obviously had bags of talent, but I think he needs that little bit of humility that young players sometimes need.

In my opinion, for a young lad, his lack of pace and stamina is surprising. And when people say he's a good utility player, it normally means that there's better players in all of the positions he can play.

Good luck to him, but I won't live in fear when I see his name on the opposition team sheet

.... so, if he replaces Yeaman, you'll be in your element.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

As soon as a player leaves, many fans look to the negatives, has played a lot at stand off this year, so maybe that's why he hasn't stood out, maybe in a bit of a comfort zone at Hudds, will have to come here and work hard to get and keep his place next season.

It's the old "fans don't rate a player that's leaving the club" routine.
I think it's a very good signing, and very good recruitment again from the club. As was Griffin.
Not a cast off in any way shape or form. Young, talented, aggressive and can play all along the back line.
Amazing how some supporters look for any type of negative in whatever the club do.

The concern for me is when you read the Huddersfield forum comments on him whether they are positive or negative what does come to light is his lack of pace.

He's scored 4 against us in the last 4 games so should of noticed him. 9 tries this term isn't a bad return this year either for a player in a poor team. No set position and only 21
Pace is a great attribute. But fast in the head is obviously in this lad with 9 and 9 assists in a poor team

like any signing we never know how he will do, but I have faith in Radford and the fc staff who think hes worth it, lack of pace does seem to crop up but he seems more likely to be an organiser etc, brown campese Dobson etc arnt lighting but do a good job

Why not quote this one instead:
HuddsRL5 wrote:I'm devastated if this is true. The most naturally gifted young player I recall seeing coming through our academy, we have messed him about and not given him a chance to stake a claim for one position.

For me he is a half back, and will be better than any half we have other than Brough if he gets chance for a continued run. Doesn't have much pace, but has enthusiasm, mongrel and skill and for me will be pushing internationally in 4/5 years time if he gets settled.
