Gotcha wrote:Jesus, there is not much left to say. Despite the poor performances you would think the coach would at the very least be capable of instilling some desire in players, not even up to that. When a player like JJB shows no desire for you then you know things are definitely wrong. Those players do not want to play for this coach, that is clear.

On the way to the ground I was listening to the radio and an interview with McDermot, what an arrogant self obsessed man he is. All the excuses in the world, but no answer. To speak openly that he is playing unfit players is so poor. Then in a match where Galloway has an excellent first 20 mins, not to be seen again until end, Garbutt gets two ridiculous 10minute spells, but Cuthbertson is run ragged, off five back on. That last try, yes Cuthbertson missed, but that was the coaches fault, the guy was dead, he should never have been on at that stage.

Ridiculous selections from the start. Ruining Sutcliffes career by putting him in key roles when not up to it. Obviously falling out with certain players. These are not good teams we are playing and losing to, each of them have more out than us. But all of them gave a desire to win, which we don't have. Every team is attacking our right hand channel, and scoring with ease continuous. If doesn't matter who defends there it still happens, which tells you there is a problem with the defensive structure. You shouldn't need this many games to cotton on yourselves.

Completely agree about cuthbertson at the end. We were 14 down with 6 mins left, game had gone and the guy had run himself into the ground.

It took us until the 60 min mark until we eventually broke the defensive line, we made KR look like the NRL premiers

The first 20 minutes of the Sky game last night illustrated exactly what Leeds problems are. With Gidley and Sandow Warrington had a balanced pair of halves who linked with each other and connected forwards and backs superbly. Sandow also looked very dangerous running. By the time Sandow did his hammy Warrington had won that game.
Chris Hill was magnificent as well and reminded me of what Kylie used to bring, he won every collision and landed on his knees and elbows so no amount of t@tting around by the goons at the tackle could stop a quick PTB.

I'm not a believer in simple fixes for complex problems but if you stuck Warringtons starting halves in our team we would not be worried about anything.

Look at the Hull KR tries
1. JJB comes out of the line leaves a huge gap Lunt trots over
2. Greenwood runs through a pathetic attempt from Mullally to get within 2 yards of the line Lunt a simple play
3. Burrow completely misses a kick two passes later its with Dixon who runs past both Hardaker and Watkins who if they had been more alert might have stopped him.
4. Yet another poor attempt at a tackle from Singleton leaves a huge gap and Cockayne simple - made even more simple by Hardaker's abject attempt at anything
5. Ablett again misses a simple tackle and a year ago Hardaker would have stopped it not this year
6. Mulhern runs past an exhausted Cuthbertson - Hardaker is once again nowhere other than shouting at Cuthbertson - nice!!

These are mistakes being made by experienced players not rookies - these structures should be set in stone no matter who plays. These guys have been playing together long enough that it should just almost muscle memory.

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

These things happen - can't win all the time - as a Hull supporter something you know a lot about

FC fans getting a bit cocky and coming on here sticking the boot in, sounds about right.must be getting a bit boring on their board with nothing to write the last few weeks on the sack the coach/pearson/why are we so crap? etc... threads they have all lived in for the last few years.

What you looking at?....Butt Head!!

As much as I'm enjoying Leeds' demise, don't embarrass us all please. You know as well as I do that every Hull defeat is greeted by a full root and branch investigation on our forum.

But, I think most of our problems stem from a lack of bite/intensity/vigour whatever you want to call it.
In attack we aren't getting quick enough play the balls and in defence we are getting killed by quick play the balls. Most of the time when an attacker just runs through a gap in our defence it's because the gap was left by a defender who has only just got off the tackle and isn't back in our defence yet.

We make enough yards but we aren't causing defences enough problems.

As I said I don't normally subscribe to the school of "just hit em harder" but I think there's an element of that needed in our play at the moment. Probably in conjunction with more "wrestle" work in defence.

There was an alarming lack of desire last night. I rarely saw Leeds players bending their backs. Too much grabbing around the shoulders.

Well were certainly the more enthusiastic side, by some distance.

Wigan had pretty much zero skill last night, were missing several key players but we're in the game because they were still putting four men in the tackle in the 75th minute and their line speed never dropped.
There's a lesson there. If it's not clicking with the ball up the work rate without it and you'll always have a chance.
