The overall mood on here is cautious optimism. Radford is doing everything right and there seems little to criticise as the team is honed and tweaked slightly to best effect. His bench has been perfect and seems to know the balance to take and when to relieve the pressure. This can only come from trial and error.
I've been a harsh critic of him, but no-one can deny that since the Rovers demolition, we have played the best rugby in over a decade. Lets not forget he's a young coach and clearly has respect from his team. The problems with Shaul must be well behind them and we have an exciting set of kids that Radford is not afraid to unleash.
Yes, it's only 2 games but we have shown an edge to our attack that is heading towards that of Millward's Saints team.

I think most would concede that he's improved the quality of the squad, our attacking play looks to be in a better place, and team spirit is better. In the context of the negativity he's attracted thus far, maybe he deserves a little credit?
At this level the coach influence is a much smaller percentage of the overall package than the quality of the players. Radford d has cleared out the dross, with Pearson's significant financial support and for that he deserves great credit. It's tough for some who entrenched themselves into a position of negativity about Radford but at the end of the day better players will always do better and at last we have some star quality to watch. Good players seem more than happy to sign for and play at Hull and that probably says more than anything about the coach and his team.

I had my doubts about Radford in the beginning but now it's clear what he's trying to achieve and I think it's fantastic. I hope for all of our sake his hard work pays off
I hope I am still feeling this positive in a couple of months because it's looking like a great season, from a hull perspective and also because the SL super powers look to be changing a little. Leeds have been superb over the last ten years but I don't enjoy seeing one team dominate
The proof of the pudding will most definitely be in the eating. If we don't make at least top 4 or the CC final it's a failed season and Radford should go. That's the players view too (regrding where we should be) as reported in the HDM. As I said previously if Radford can't get some sort of success with this squad then he'll never do it as comparatively we have one of the very best squads and deffo best pack in SL and should be challenging for silverware. So far so good and he gets my backing, if we fall short again by season end then he has to go because there are no excuses this year.

Thats pretty harsh! I dont think our coach will get sacked if we finish outside top 4 Your squad is improved and Pritchard looks good but I dont think its in the top 4, if you take out ourselves there is still Wigan, Wire, Saints, Catalan and arguably Hud with better squads imo surely top 6 would be good enough given you don't have any current internationals?

I'm sure he'll be delighted that you've pulled the petition for now at least.

Anyway, enough of feeding the troll - Radders. He and Tony inherited an absolute mess in terms of salary cap management and the squad they were left with. It's taken them a couple of years to sort out and ship out the idiots, but it's now there's, it's his team, no excuses on that front.
Our attack, baring the end of last season, has been very poor. But let's not forget our defence was very good last year, and we were right at the top of the stats for offloads, meters made, tackle busts etc. We were capable of getting the ball into the danger zone, just terrible at converting that pressure into tries. Not everything was as terrible as we think last year.
Fast forward to this season, we've made some brilliant signings and worked very hard at fixing that attack, whilst maintaining the good points from last year I've just mentioned.
It's a great start, credit to him and everyone else at the club.
