Anyway, RugbyAM has us in 10th. There seems little doubt Salford but particularly Catalans will be materially stronger next season so I can see where they're coming from. We need Cas and Wire to go backwards year on year. Making the 8 through better home form and leveraging what looks a pretty good pack is essential. As others have said, big season for Sneyd.
Not far off I think. If Sneyd stays fit you'll go better than last year. If he doesn't then your big pack has no one to get them round the park. Bit early for Abdul if sneyd isn't about. Well be 8th or below. Everyone's season will depend on injuries.
See the usual twaddle happens on here. 3rd or 4th really...

Shaul, Snyed, Pryce and Houghton are the key players. We have very little back up for Houghton and I strongly feel going into the season without a recognised specialist hooker may well be a mistake. I am fully aware of Washy hence the word specialist. I like Shaul but does he give you that X factor like many of the top full backs. I don't know yet. He may well though develop that way but I am not so sure yet. Sneyd has to deliver. We do have cover for him but its young kids. It may well be that we don't quite push on as a result. Pryce is a season older. A season wiser yes, but how much more can he take? We need him consistent for the entire season. He started well last season but then tailed off, possibly due to knocks.
That said there is a good balance of youth and experience and I feel properr pros who will look after themselves off the field, which may well give us the edge we are looking for. A very senior player at the club told me that he doesn't think there are any great coaches in the game in the UK. What we actually have is squads of good professional players who know what to do and are winners. He feels that this years squad may well be just that. I thought about that and looked at Leeds and in all honesty i had to agree with him. So maybe LR is not the problem. Just a thought.
I predict 4th or 5th. Better home performances should ensure that. I will also go with my one great desire and thats a Wembley appearance. Traditionally they say you get to Wembley on the back of a great pack. We have that in abundance. They also say your backs win it at Wembley. So maybe I will be disappointed again.
A better pack than Catalans Saints or Castleford for that matter.

The good thing is that in theory a strong pack should mean parity. An average pack with poor depth would be asking for trouble in this comp with others strengthening.

I dont think you guys have the best pack in SL next year. Depending on the games you get out of Ellis I would say your weaker at prop as Taylor aint as good as Paea. Obviously you have a quality back row, thats if your two new overseas signings turn up and play to their potential plus I would take Catalans backrow over yours. Pryce with another season in his legs, im just not sure what your going to get out of him and Sneyd as has shown in his last two seasons can be pretty inconsistent. If your forwards and half backs click then it aint going to matter who your outside backs are.
As for SL, I think the top six teams in terms of quality on paper are clearly Leeds, Saints, Wigan, Hudds, Warrigton and Catalan. I think the rest of are just fighting it out for 7th and 8th with us, Cas and you guys as favs.
I don't see it as a job. It is a passion and love that we all share. Neil Hudgell

Tbf the point on the halves at least is valid. Massive responsibility on Sneyd to drag us round the park. Would love to see him and Abdull build a strong partnership.

Ellis targeting the Rovers friendly with a view to playing v Salford. Likely to be either prop or 13. Not sure about that, I like him out wide, but I guess Mini and Frank self-select if fit.

Taylor is better than Paea. Bigger. More mins. Better hands. Similar stats. Young and continually improving. Paea is a bigger force in defense that's all. Ellis is adding to the prop roster so it can only improve it. On what basis do you go with catalans back row? Which 1 of them is better than pritchard? Which 1 have already proven himself in this comp like mini? Manu was a bit down in form last year tbf. That still leaves him on a par with Stewart at worst cos he was poor for souths. Sneyd be fine. He was mostly over all. Unless u watched all of hulls games I wouldn't read to much into the comments of the FC drama Queens on here and social media. Even Pryce wasn't as bad as some make out. Was fine for a long time then lost form a bit. Beauty is though Abdull with a lot of games has shown he can do it. Hopefully kicked on further still. On paper I don't think you can make to much of the teams. Wigan are least changed and look strong to me. Personally all the teams you name above hull are flimsy in areas Barring Leeds who don't so much have weakness just a question mark over how they'll deal with their losses. Hull have questions too obviously. Think the leagues really shortened up with how the lower teams have strengthened and Leeds have weakened. God I can't wait
