It's not just the match report, which predictably is a work of semi-fiction. It's the other posts on the same day. Is this appropriate? "Sorry we were rubbish, but never mind. Lets have a laugh and a sing-song and give Gaz Ellis an extra £15 each".
The event isn't an issue; the timing makes me worry for our PR department.

Hull FC’s overseas stars Micky Paea, Iafeta Paleaaesina, Mark Minichiello, Jordan Rankin and Fetuli Talanoa are in the 10-man line up to sing with a fan at the Lansco FC Duets show at Hull City Hall in aid of the Gareth Ellis Testimonial.
Also taking part are Ellis himself, performing with local boxing hero Tommy Coyle, Joe Westerman, Conditioner Sean Rush and former FC players Danny Tickle and Aaron Heremaia, now with Widnes Vikings.
The unique concert, sponsored by Lansco, the Hull-based builders and shopfitters, will be staged at the City Hall on the evening of Tuesday 21st April, kicking off at 7.45pm.
Tickets priced £15 and £12 are now available from the Box Office at Hull City Hall.
The concert features the Hull FC personalities performing a duet with a supporter, 10 of whom have passed auditions hosted by the event co-ordinator Johnny Paterson, Hull’s legendary band leader.
Johnny commented: “Having spent more than half a century in the music business I have to say that some of the players’ voices are truly memorable!
"The FC Duets concept is yet another example of how Rugby League stars enjoy interacting with their supporters.”

Indeed, we all understand that the clubs marketing and retail staff have a job to do, and that is to sell product/events. But no doubt we'll be inundated with 'offers' for the club shop all week, and stories in the HDM about how well we are training, how the team are eager to put things right...the usual spin. A few days of the club keeping quiet wouldn't go amiss.

Doesn't our PR 'department' just consist of James Clark? No offence, as he obviously works damn hard and long hours, but this is perhaps why our match reporting and publicity is so one-dimensional.

When your winning PR is the easiest job in the world, when you have had an embarrassing defeat it becomes somewhat difficult. Its probably looking at bit one dimensional at the moment because an awful lot of turd polishing has been required. You can't expect the unvarnished truth for some of the recent "efforts"from Hull and you don't get it from any other club either.

At least our match reporting and publicity are mirroring the team then...

Is Mrs Barista supplementing her earnings by 'doing a guvvy' for the club Certainly a 'challenging' read for long suffering hull fans who witnessed this one sided affair.
