Well I'm here. You certainly would never find me on 'Claret & Banter' as I could never bring myself to support any team from that place up the road. I would have been on earlier but I have some internet issues at the moment. So what of today's game? I think firstly we were beaten by a better team. Despite making about as many handling errors as we did, the Eagles looked like a class act. They were big, strong, fast lads who played with a considerable amount of attacking flair. Their support play was first class and something our lads could learn from. That said, I thought the Cougars put in a fair old shift and we can have good grounds to feel optimistic about our season. Despite the defeat, I still take positives away from that game. As someone else already said, onwards and upwards. COOOUUUGAAARS!
They were the better side and deserved winners (mind you you couldn't tell that by the miserable look on Astons face, if he ever smiles I think his face will crack.)
We put them under a period of sustained pressure in the first half, but did not score, they did the same at the start of the second and put tries to bed.
Our forwards put in a big stint, but I was less inpressed with some of our backs. Far too many forced and unforced errors and we simply don't ship the ball across the line fast enough, resulting in either us overrunning the ballcarrier or them lining our man up before he has the ball. Not enough support players following the ball carrier through the tackle.
I didn't think we would win this but I was hoping for a bonus point.
On a side note, they trew a lot of "flat" passes that other officials may have called forward.
I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right!
Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness.
Ah!!! CDC I have to support City, they are my nearest football club!! Though I would never ever grace that place they call 'Odsal'. ( sorry for using foul and abusive language).
As 1 City fan said "If the Dulls move down to Valley Parade, we could turn the sprinklers round to spray into the crowd, to give the spectators the true Odsal experience".

Ah, but Burnley is in Lancashire!! How could I? Besides, my dad took me to the Rugby at Keighley in 1977, when I was 7. I didn't get to City until 1987. He wouldn't take me to L**D's UTD in the early '80's. Best thing he never did for me.
