Went to see Woodkid with the BBC Concert Orchestra at Brixton Academy last night. Not sure if I can adequately put into words just how good it was. Went to see Sigur Ros earlier in the year and said afterwards that it was probably the best gig I'd ever been to. That set the bar but last night it was absolutely smashed. Fantastic light show, massive sounds and even a double encore. One of those rare moments I'll be able to look back on and say 'I was there'.

I've just been to see Emily Barker And The Red Clay Halo for the second time in under week. They really ought to be alot more well known than they are. Check out Fields of June with Frank Turner on that popular video sharing website.

Vampire Weekend were excellent on Saturday night.
Noah and the Whale were supporting and I'm really surprised how many of their songs I actually knew. Can't say I've been converted though.
The FD Arena, Leeds is an impressive venue but I do believe it would benefit from another bank of speakers in the top front corners. We were sat up near the back and although the sound does come up at you, it doesn't really blow you away.

I went to the Leeds gig on Sunday also. The Chains were superb and Ghost were visually entertaining. I was also impressed with Walking Papers - Duff McKagan's new band. Bluesy and so much different to the usual hard rock fare. Keyboards were brilliant.

Tickets for Sheffield have just arrived Last time for me was with Ronnie James Dio (RIP) and Heaven N Hell in 2007 at Sheffield. Really looking forward to seeing Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats opening for the mighty Sabbath. Best riff of 2013 goes to Mount Abraxus IMO. (see best riff thread).
