Anyone who has followed Price's career in the ametures won't be surprised by this loss. He's been dropped countless times, and despite all the hype that's surrounded him since he turned pro I've always been skeptical as to whether he was durable enough to make it in the pro game. Some people will point to the likes of Khan, and Wlad whom managed to rebuild their careers after suffering bad KO losses early in their careers, but Price isn't as young as Khan or Wlad were and, he doesn't have the sound technique, and a world class trainer like Wlad had. I bet Fury is pi55ing himself whilst also being slightly annoyed that his potential payday with Price now looks to have gone out of the window.

It was an absolute shocker. There's always been talk of a glass chin but that really didn't look too heavy a shot. Of course that's easy to say from my sofa..
I agree about Fury. Wonder what he's like on Twitter? I know he's s bit crazy on there anyway!

but of a funny shot round by the ear
but always been the question marks about his chin, but lets face it if you get hit by a heavyweight clean your going to go anyway
It wasn't clean though was it? That was a fight to get Price some rounds and get some work done I think. Shouldn't have been a risk at all. I doubt many other guys would go down to that shot...

no it wasnt clean it was around the ear which can affect the equilibrium and no one gets up from them.
if you was looking at the fight on paper you would of backed thompson really with his record vs prices.. shouldnt of been such a shock..it was a step up for price and he failed.
still has options though as he has the british belt,... bet he goes for chisora next.

If, as suggested, Price has suffered a perforated ear drum, then it looks pretty obvious that this can be put down as pretty much a freak KO, because any significant damage to the ear will see the reaction that Price's legs gave.
The odd thing is, the question mark over Price's chin is still not answered because his chin was not hit and as for a future Price-Fury fight, while Fury's followers might now say their fighter will be favourite, I'd tend to still go with Price, simply because he is technically the better boxer.

There're no questions about Price's chin, its weak. He was dropped and stopped numerous times in the ametures, with head gear and and gloves that are at times like pillows. Thompson is no mug, his only losses in the last few years have come against Wlad but he's not known as a big puncher and at nearly 42 shouldn't have had a chance really. Price has unquestionable power but his accuracy and tequnique are suspect IMO, I'm not convinced he's as far infront of Fury as many think, Fury doesn't have Price's power, he's got better hand speed, he throws his combinations better and he's more durable.

Fury is technically poor. Yes, he throws combinations, but in his last fight was doing so with his feet in all the wrong positions and so his punch power was seriously reduced.
Also, because of his technical flaws, he was decked a few fights ago by Pajkic, who was an absolute nobody and only recovered because his opponent was an extreme novice....Against a half decent fighter, with a good punch, Fury will come unstuck and won't get the chance to recover - He'll be knocked unconcious.
Fury's best bet would be to find himself a better trainer who can use his hand speed properly, whilst retaining his power.....Without some power at top level, a heavyweight has no chance and, at the moment, Fury has none.
