They did it for the Catalans playoff game last year.
It was a curry and a pint and the game for a £10.
Not a bad idea once they got the sound system working.

Restricted to 200 tickets. Won't make massive money but should bring in a few grand in bar receipts.

Very probable, supply them with a feed when they play at cp?

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

In the old CP days this type of promotion would have been part and parcel of the supporters club. That place had real atmosphere. The Robin's Nest is a poor excuse for one and too small.

I went to the Catalan curry nite and whilst it was okay the atmosphere in the bar wasn't condusive for letting yer hair down. There's a certain stuffiness in there which isn't my cup of tea. Mind you the thrashing we got didn't help!!!!

I'm actually going to the game stopping over at friends in Widnes but I hope it is a successful evening.

I think it's any excellent idea and proves that the club are pro active in their approach to the supporters who are suffering in these recession hit days. If you would normally follow the Robins home and away and don't have Sky it is a good way of following your team without the cost in time and money doing so.
Well done Rovers

When the Robins Nest WAS the supporters club when we first moved to the new ground it was utilised much better than it is now, we don't have a supporter's club as such. I worked in the club during the first three years at New Craven Park and on a matchday we had 12 staff behind the bar and it was always about 3 deep at the bar, we were always rushed off our feet, serving beer and home made sandwiches. Sadly the Supporter's Club became a victim of the times, I worked during the week when there were more staff than customers in! Concert nights Saturday and Sunday brought alot of people in from the area but there just weren't enough 'bums on seats' so to speak. I'd love to see it resurrected, with a decent committee running it, lots of potential. I was quite sad the last time I went in to see that half of the club had been shut off with doors as apparently the area is used by away teams to eat after the game.

They'll just bang SKY on in the corner, surely? Why do they need a feed from the away ground?

Unless you mean when it's not featured on SKY, in which case I'd guess they wouldn't bother.
