This is a tough one to predict. The last 4 games for the Cru have been 2 good performances (Barrow and Toulouse) and 2 poor performances (Skolars and Hornets). Hopefully they'll start to get more consistent. I think it will be a good game with the Cru faithful making a lot of noise as usual. Crusaders 34, Scorpions 18. Crowd 1600

Very mixed emotions for this one as started off following Celtic Crusaders and watch both Crusaders and Scorpions when I can.
Saw Scorpions last week at Donny and defensively they were all over the place (though it seems Cru's was even worse) but when they got the ball they played some decent stuff though when they got near the line panic set in where a cool head might have seen them get a few more tries.
I can see it being high scoring and if Rooney can start well he could be the match winner for Scorpions (Doncaster knew he was the danger and targeted him early and he was not a factor all day) but in truth it is too close to call and as confidence is low in both camps if a team can go 2 scores ahead you would fancy them to kick on and get a result.
Hopefully a decent crowd (2,000+) and a great game but I will say North Wales 24 South Wales 32 though if those scores were reversed I would not be surprised in the least.

Ever the optimist, I'm going for Crus by 18 - the attendance could be hit by the weather, as I look out of the window here just outside Newtown it's tiddling down!

We will be coming over from Derby regardless and have already booked to stay in Bradford this weekend so we can support Scorpions at Halifax on Saturday then Crusaders at Wigan on Sunday.

Crusaders 34 Scorpions 22. Attendance over 1200. A see saw type of game with the wet conditions and slippery ball leading to too many errors from both sides. Some good tries scored and thankfully Cru came good in the end. Jono had his usual storming game.

Thought the conditions played a part first half as it only stopped raining about 4.30 but the second half was a good contest with Crusaders showing a bit more flare and indiviual skills to get over and score some really nice tries.
The gate was disappointing but the atmosphere was good and although both teams are not up to challenge at this level at the moment the signs are there that they can improve ready for what should be an easier challenge next year round.

Initially I thought the gate was disappointing but over out 4 games at the racecourse we have had a stedy 1000 which isnt bad for Championship 1. One Rochdale supporter said if they had that many they hold a party!
Exciting game yeaterday and very pleased with our first win. Lets hope we can build on this but we have two tough games coming up - first Wigan away in the Challenge Cup and then Workington away. Need yesterdays second half performance from now onwards.

As far as the gate's concerned, I suspect the combination of the weather and the ko time affected it.
