Clag nuts, or more correctly in farming (and I'm from the sticks so shut your faces townie people) parlance, "winnits" are the bits of shittington that get stuck to the fleece around a sheep's Iestyn. These have to be removed as flies can lay eggs in them and then the maggots can burrow into Mrs. Baa Baa's rectal passage.
