have you realised just how much biting you have been doing yet?
Ahhhh - so you didn't mean any of it. I thought so. You admire Madge and have only the deepest of respect for his tactics and team. Fantastic. Good to hear.
Anyway, I have been known to throw out the odd teasing comment myself. I'm amused that my uber-confident predictions of Wire's demise were taken so seriously that people bookmarked them.

Now - no. He isn't even coaching anywhere now is he? He's doing commentary work etc over here still? Back in the day presumably, but fame is a transient thing isn't it? Adam Ant was the biggest music star in the world for a while when I was a lad, I don't think many people under 30 will have heard of him.
Met him once (Shaun not Adam), had a good chat with him over a couple of beers. Seemed like a nice bloke. I suspect he does like the odd pie or two. Nothing wrong with that.

You see how I deal with good points that are made to me.
I await similar acknowledgments from Wire fans e.g. that Madge isn't despised or his successes tainted, that Souths are actually a very historic and famous RL club and not at all like Swinton!
Swinton Last won the Championship in 1964,
Souths last won the Aussie championship in 1971...hows that not at all like Swinton....???

However, there will always be lingering doubts about his methods of gaining success, and his hollering antics on Sunday simply added fuel to the theory that he is a 'win-at-all-costs' type of guy.....Yes, to some that will be a positive quality, but to some it is an unlikeable trait that doesn't need to be promoted in the manner that he does.
On a footballing level, he is the despised Don Revie ....Very successful, but not fondly remembered, because he made his teams snarl, instead of purr their way to glory.
But remember our very own Tony Smith - when he was in charge of Huddersfield, the dirtiest team in the league in 2003. They used spoiler sthouse tactics and it got results with the limited team they had. Of course when Smith was at Leeds and Warrington with the players at his disposal he could use more attractive tactics. Maguire is doing the best with the personnel he has at his disposal - if he was in charge of a club like Leeds or Warrington whose to say he wouldn't play more adventurous rugby?
