Remember that those who come off the chat thread for a breather are sometimes naive as to the goings on at the club and team selection.

Sam Tomkins is pretty small and although he gets thrown around a bit he can handle the physical side of the game and therefore is able to show his undoubted ability.

In the case of Louis Sheriff I have to agree that he does look too small and you wonder if he can handle the physical side as well as Tomkins. I don't think we really know yet but I do believe he has not looked ready for regular first team rugby at Super League level. That could be because he will never be ready or it could be that he needs a bit more time we will have to wait and see.

Either way I think it will be a huge gamble if we go into next season with him as our first choice full back.

Just looked at Tomkins stats, nearly 12 stone & 5 foot 10 inch that is not that small, he is just not a front rower. Anyway if you have a dominant pack Sherriff would run riot & that is were Rovers need to improve on. old adage forwards win the game backs decide the margin of the win.

Should have put at least two Wigan players in the bin, three half breaks & wigan get penalised for holding down (any one of which should have been yellow carded) penalsed Tickle when the wigan player droped the ball & kept on missing wigan obstructions. at least it keeps our season well alive.
