But as it's not your club he's playing with, I note your comments but with respect, I hope that our club is now left to make the judgement on whether he's been a valuable signing ourselves!

Not picking a fight, i like Fev, met a few last year, top lads but there is no doubting the guy is a scroat of the highest order.
On the field though he can only add rather than detract from your squad i'll concede that.

He can! And that's what I'd rather concentrate on rather than the notoriety and a hell of a lot of fevour whipped up about his history - which has been dealt with and serves no purpose to keep going over and over it again and again!
I would have thought he''ll only be with us til the end of the season anyway - he's SL class and will no doubt go back there. BUT, if he helps us win the GF then it will have been worth it!!
I personally don't know the lad - but I do believe him to be a decent signing at this time of the season!

As a person, you have a PR disaster and someone i wish would find another profession, preferably something very dangerous.
hardly a disaster, the press love a bad boy to make a scapegoat and considering Ben was only a passenger he has taken a hell of a fall for Liam Watts. His facebook privacy settings were his major downfall, bilmy I think there are a lot of people out there that have extremist views but his actual comment was a throw away description of a person. Call him what you like but if you don't know him or never spoken to him your judgement is worthless.
Maybe we should list all the kids he's helped grow to love the game? How about the coaching he's done to help the grass roots levels of this game? Shall we maybe emphasise the time he spent with fans being much greater than some of the "gentlemen" of the game.

Maybe i could list the countless amount of people on the end of racial slurs who don't find comments like that so easy to throw away.
Maybe if Keil Thompson hadn't been roughing up his girlfriend in the middle of a pub or assaulted Bens friend he'd not have been in that position in the first place.

It's History!!
He's at Fev now. Debate the rights n wrongs of his signature elsewhere. I'm happy he's signed for us. If it works fine. If it doesn't he'll go elsewhere. He's not at your club. Why does it matter so much to you to keep posting this on here???

Me and my family are already planning a trip over to watch him play, I really hope he goes well for you.

But he WAS suspended sine die and had to fight tooth and nail to have the ban lifted, then found himself behind bars once again. Both he and his brother could have been very good rugby players, both had the size and weight to be leaders in the pack or in the centres.
As for Ben Cockayne, it was 4 years ago that Ben was in a fight, yes he went too far and admitted that he had made a terrible drunken error.
As said 4yrs ago! Then he posts something silly on facebook, not illegal but certainly frowned upon and once again he was fined and issued a public apology.
His latest issue was more about breaking club rules and even then nothing has been proven to say he was drinking while on a club ban. The problem was he was in a car with a drunken team mate who was driving. He then apparently ran from police but if it were your job on the line I think I'd be tempted to try and get away. The police questioned him but never arrested him or cautioned him.
I am not sure this "baggage" tag really sticks, he's done one major, one minor and to be quite honest the last issue wouldn't have even made the papers had it been anyone else in the car with Wattsy.
The reason he is out on loan instead of sacked? The club probably can't sack him, I am not sure but he obviously would have a case and the club know the only way to get rid is to get to the end of his contract.
Oh and 9 penalties in 17 games this season, 14 in 23 last season, 9 in 15 in 2009, 22 in 23 - 2008 and our first SL season 2007 he gave away 7 penalties in 23 games! Hardly a penalty machine except for 2008 and it was still only around 1 per game.
