right, finally invested in a new laptop, I've got Norton AV on it (because I had a three PC liscence with a space on it), anything else I should be running to keep it safe and running at optimum speed?
(and don't say linux or other such stuff as it isn't viable for me)

Football Manager 2011 is an essential utility for all computers. You really can't go without this one.

My mate has a nasty virus, one of those download this or it restarts his comp. He says he's tries malware bytes with the CPU offline but has had no luck. Any other ways of getting rid?

You need an anti virus program, Malware Bytes only sorts trojans and other nasties like that.

Yes, remove Norton (IMO). Purchase a less bloated AV.

Nothing at all wrong with Norton.

Right - I have a problem with my laptop at home, some pages won't load (RLFans & BBCi) whereas others will, I have done the usual - Scans, change of browser, emptying caches, checking security levels but all to no avail. They just time out or 'hang', any ideas? The browsers I have used are the latest versions of IE, Firefox and Safari
I wouldn't bother reading this bit, there is nothing interesting, witty or insightful down here, just this collection of boring words explaining that you really are wasting your time browsing this signature in the vain and futile hope that there will be a nugget, nay, a veritable goldmine of witticisms or divine philosophy. In reality, all you're going to get is disappointment, a sense of hopelessness and a random word.
